~I must go down to the sea again
To the lonely sea and the sky~
If you were looking for blue skies and big clouds on this late September day in Ocean City, then you were in the right place at the right time. Perfect weather for our annual outing to this New Jersey beach town!
Well OK not quite to nowhere but only to the Cape Palliser Lighthouse, the road stops shortly after.

The light shone for the first time on 27th October 1897. The lighthouse is notable for the 261 steps it takes to reach it. When these steps were first built they were greeted enthusiastically as they replaced a slippery narrow path up the rock face that was especially dangerous at night.
The cast iron tower stands 18 metres high and 78 metres above sea level. The light flashes twice every 20 seconds and can be seen for 26 nautical miles (48 kilometres).
The 1000-watt lamp operates on mains electricity with a diesel generator for standby power. The light originally burnt oil as a light source and was converted to diesel generated electricity in 1954, and then to mains electricity in 1967.
The light was fully automated in 1986 and the lighthouse keeper was withdrawn.
The operation of the light is now completely automatic and is monitored by a computer and Maritime NZ staff in Wellington.
A good Mexican friend came to Madrid on business from Germany. She also came to check if it was true my opinion about that in restaurant "La Central Mexicana" they presently serve the best Margaritas and Mexican Food (in Capital Letters) "on this side of Atlantic Ocean".
She sipped once the beverage and confirmed it to me: "This is the best Margarita and food since the last time I was in my homeland Mexico visiting my family."
Just got back from a first time experience seeing lava. This picture is a quick edit of the over 400 shots that I took
Jyn Erso is ready to attack Stormtroopers on Jedha. I really enjoyed the recent movie clip showing this fight scene, so I was inspired to do a photo based on it :-)
Only 10 days until the movie! I can't wait :-)

To be honest, I not quite sure what is this instruments call... i had been searching through the internet the conclusion I could get is this might call "Garnbus". Anyway, this is type of Chordophones~
Hello to all my Flickr friends. It has been a difficult few weeks since my last upload. This was sadly due to losing my brother at the end of November after a long battle with cancer, so please forgive me for not being on Flickr.
I hope that you all had a great Christmas, and i would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the wonderful comments and support over the last 12 mouths.
Best wishes to you all for 2025.
Regards, Ray.
A tribute to my wonderful friend Liz...who always cheer me up with her magical voice and fine arts...

Not that happy with the export on this one - much sharper in the catalogue that here on the screen - flickr playing silly buggers again?
Lie to me,
it doesn't matter anymore
It could never be,
the way it was before
If I can't hold on to you
Leave me somethin'
I can hold onto
For just a little while
won't you,
won't you let me be

I do not think I have ever paid attention to the fact that turtles have nostrils before I took some close-up images of turtles sunbathing near a pond at the San Diego State University campus. 😂

20th December 2015
Hi everyone. This year I'm participating in a Flickr Photo Advent Calendar, organised by the wonderful Eva. Thirty one days in December, thirty one photographers and therefore, thirty one photographs. We have a group here on flickr, to ensure you guys can follow along.
This year has been very bittersweet. I've experienced one of the biggest (if not the biggest) photographic opportunity of my life (details about that will be released next year), I've finished university and have shot with some artists I've admired for years. But, behind the scenes I've been dealing with an incredible hardship in my personal life - something I am still coming to terms with and probably will be coming to terms with for the rest of my life. Please hug your loved ones this Christmas and be present. Be in the moment and treasure the ones you're surrounded by. I'll see you all next year and thank you all again for your amazing support. I'm really proud of what I've created this year and look forward to what's next.

Continuing to review our 2024 travels. We typically visit Arizona in early spring before the intense heat sets in. After a few days in the Tucson area, we head north to Page.
The Grand Canyon is just a short detour from the main highway between Flagstaff and Page. We usually don't do it, but the sky was moody and turbulent that day and I thought some good photo ops might be possible. I was right.
The Utah west desert offers many surprises - on this afternoon a temporary lake formed from recent rains. The depth was less than ankle deep, but the bottom was muddy, and I am sure my prints will be eternalized all summer in the baked mud.
The water was perfectly still, and only my movements caused ripples - but a minute of standing absolutely still and the mirror returns.
This is 100% real and no photo manipulation. My friend Roy L. Fuchs was with me, and I said: "no one will believe this is real - its to perfect."
at Osaka Castle.
Long exposure with Ricoh GR, no tripod necessary, Just place camera on a flat ledge, utilise its built-in ND filter.
This 54-metre bridge (Gokuraku bridge) over the castle’s moat is the most photogenic part of the Osaka Castle personally.
Ricoh GR is really a camera that’s in a class of its own. Of course there’s the FF Leica Q but that is a Veblen good.
For half the time I’ve owned my Ricoh GR, the camera was way more capable than me as I can see that other more capable users are getting better looking outputs from their GR. I’m able to appreciate its talents much better these days.
I may eventually get that Ricoh GRiii.
