To keep things simple I have only created a limited number of themed sets. I have however tagged all photos extensively; please see all my tags arranged alphabetically for an overview or if you’re looking for something specific.
I don’t own Photoshop and I process/edit my pictures as little as possible.

The Tiler's Room is the main entrance to the Scottish Rite Cathedral (off of Meridian Street, within the eastern portal). This room is a perfect cube -- 33 feet wide, 33 feet long, 33 feet high. The entire Scottish Rite is based on units of 33 because Christ lived for 33 years and the highest possible degree in Scottish Rite Freemasonry is the 33rd degree.
One of the many tiled panels in the Embajadores Hall of the Alhambra Palace.
This hall was the symbolic centre of the "nazarie" power, which is evident in the refinement and splendour of the decoration. It is the room where the monarch held audiences in front of the grandees of the kingdom and receptions of envoys or other people of high standing.
Richly-coloured majolica tiles - with very ugly repair work - adorning the street-level façade of Williams' Buildings, Nolan Street, Maryborough.
Majolica is a type of earthenware pottery fired at a high temperature and finished with a lead glaze which produces a vibrant final product. Although colourful glazed pottery has existed in the world for centuries - for instance, fragments of coloured pottery have been found in Iraq dating back to the 9th century BCE - this particular style experienced a resurgence in England and the US during the Victoria era.
The tiles captured in this photo show a strong Art Nouveau influence, both in the colours used and the delicate, Nouveau-inspired mouldings used in the feature tile and the frieze. When viewed from a particular angle, the tiles also feature a beautiful prismatic sheen, which would have been particularly striking when the building was first built and everything was still new and shiny.
The building that these tiles decorate was constructed in 1909 by Isaac Soloman, and housed a set of shops. Currently, many of the shops are vacant, and some of the street level tile work has been damaged or subjected to some very shoddy repairs.

A traditional Japanese roof tile at the Byodo-In Temple on Oahu.
The Byodo-In Temple at the foot of the Ko'olau Mountains on Oahu is a smaller-scale replica of the over 950-year-old Byodo-in Temple, a United Nations World Heritage Site in Uji, Japan.
Forgive me for this boring shot but: last night, while I was cycling on my way home, my attention was suddenly caught by the nothing-much-going-on-at-all-ness of this spot. These tiles seemed beautiful and worth photographing.
Today I'm nonplussed, I don't know why I thought it necessary to take this shot, but here it is. Sometimes the city startles you in ways which are hard to explain or even understand.
Four+ hours of The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya tend to take their toll too.
