bathroom renovation - day 14:
most of the floor tile was installed -- except for the plumbing access panel, which will be done after the tub is hooked up. dan spent the entire day with the tile guy, to make sure the black circle designs went in the right place. (and it's a good thing he did.) 04.19.09

This photo was taken inside our old hospital (SEHOS Sint Elisabeth Hospital) I was there for medical treatment for my wife. Something told me to bring my camera along. Walking on the old balcony of our hospital (established 1855) I came upon this picture of a small plant growing in the roof gutter of the hospital.
The lovely, fresh greens really stood out from the black roof tiles and prompted me to take the picture.

So the tile is coming along. If I did not have to do in addition to all the other work I am trying to catch up with at the same time, then I would be a lot further along....... oh and I had to totally clean up my shop from the plumbers mess. It made the mess in the bathroom look small. I only just got back to being able to work in the shop today.
The tiles shown in this photos are only dry clay which has not been bisque fired or glazed yet. Kinda boring to look at before they have been colored.
A classic Zellij pattern that has been glitched-out with geometric distortions, then laser-cut from wood and assembled into a piece of parquetry.

Dungeon Tile Sets "Desert of Athas" and "Harrowing Halls" from Wizards of the Coast.
An encounter area with several platforms, and a bridge stretching between 2 of them, made using the "Harrowing Halls" set. Floors here are wooden except on the platforms.
There are 2 overlapping inches on each end of the bridge tile, though I think I could set it up with only 1" on the platform and still not have it falling off. I hope they make an even longer version of this tile in one of the upcoming sets.

if you stare at this for a few seconds it has a sort of Necker Cube effect where you can either see it as an inner corner or an outer one - which do you think it is?
