➤ Your image must include a means of transportation – but since we are all environmentalists, ecologists, animal activists and rescuers, the vehicle must be activated only by clean energy, such as sunlight, wind, water, geothermal heat, gravity, magnetic force, warp drive, teleportation and so on.

➤ People (of any number) must also be included (aliens and fantasy/sci-fi creatures welcome).

➤ Same for animals (of any number, aliens and fantasy/sci-fi creatures welcome).

➤ Use only soft or natural shades of color

➤ No abstractions: your subjects must be recognizable.

A Mirror Image (in a plane mirror) is a reflected duplication of an object that appears almost identical, but is reversed in the direction perpendicular to the mirror surface. As an optical effect it results from reflection off from substances such as a mirror or water. It is also a concept in geometry and can be used as a conceptualization process for 3-D structures. Two-dimensional mirror images can be seen in the reflections of mirrors or other reflecting surfaces, or on a printed surface seen inside-out.

If we first look at an object that is effectively two-dimensional (such as the writing on a card) and then turn the card to face a mirror, the object turns through an angle of 180° and we see a left-right reversal in the mirror. In this example, it is the change in orientation rather than the mirror itself that causes the observed reversal. Another example is when we stand with our backs to the mirror and face an object that's in front of the mirror. Then we compare the object with its reflection by turning ourselves 180°, towards the mirror. Again we perceive a left-right reversal due to a change in our orientation. So, in these examples the mirror does not actually cause the observed reversals.

Trinity Bridge (Troitskiy Most) is a bascule bridge across the Neva in Saint Petersburg. It connects Kamennoostrovsky Prospect with Suvorov Square. It was the third permanent bridge across the Neva, built between 1897 and 1903 by the French firm Société de Construction des Batignolles. It is 582 meters (1,909 ft) long and 23.6 meters (77 ft) wide. The bridge takes its name from the Old Trinity Cathedral which used to stand at its northern end. In the 20th century, it was known as Equality Bridge (1918–1934) and Kirovsky Bridge (1934–1999).

In 1803, the Voskresensky ponton bridge, which was built in 1786 near Voskresensky Prospect (now Chernyshevsky Prospect), was moved to the Summer Garden. In 1825, the pontoon Suvorovsky Bridge was built to link Suvorov Square with Troitskaya (Trinity) Square. In 1892, a contest for constructing a permanent Troitsky Bridge was announced. There were 16 entrants from local and European engineers, including one from the French engineer Gustave Eiffel, the creator of the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. The winner was the out-of-competition conception by Paul-Joseph Bodin aided by Arthur Flachet, Vincent Chabrol, and Claude Patouillard from the French Société de Construction des Batignolles. Some contributions to their proposal were provided by a team of local engineers. A special commission from the Imperial Academy of Arts, including Leon Benois also participated in the project. Construction began on 12 August 1897. Félix Faure, the president of France was present at the ceremony. In the same political spirit, Nicholas II laid the foundation stone for the Pont Alexandre III in Paris, another memorial to the Franco-Russian Alliance. The bridge was completed in 1903, in time for the 200-year anniversary of Saint Petersburg.

Originally the bridge had nine spans. Five of these were permanent metallic riveted spans, with novel console-arch-beam systems and gradually increasing span length from banks to the middle of the river. A three-arch granite viaduct linked the metallic central section to the right bank, and a two-winged bascule span joined it to the left bank. The design of the central spans, in which single uncut girders bridge more than one span, significantly relieves the stress on the central part of the arches, decreasing the support required in the river and giving the span structures a gentle arch shape. The bridge is decorated with cast iron gratings with artistic casting, granite pylons with lanterns and metallic three-colour lanterns in the Art Nouveau style. The obelisks flanking the entrance to the bridge from Suvorov Square were remodeled in 1955. In 1965–1967 the bascule span was rebuilt as a one-winged, lifting design. Its length was extended to 43 meters (141 ft) and its appearance modelled on the other metal spans. A granite arch slope was set on the left bank. During the reconstruction water slopes were enlarged and granite benches were set along left bank abutment.

This is one of my most powerful OCs, so don’t be shocked about his powers :)

Name: Simon Matthew

Alias: Anti-Angel

Allegiance: None

Powers: Anytime that Simon is extremely stressed or traumatized, he gets a new power. So far, he can see into the future and accurately predict what is about to happen, fly (obviously), incredibly strong and fast, holds the magic spear that killed Julius Caesar, which is able to blast powerful shots of magical energy, teleportation, invincible to all but magic, can become intangible.

Weakness: He is blind and relies on remembering what he sees during his future sight

Backstory: Simon was born with his god-like powers, save for flight. His childhood was full of traumatic events, each one unlocking a new power. His father abused him, so he unlocked future sight so that he could know when his father would strike next. His mother was shot, so he developed super speed so that he could avoid being shot himself. His father tried to kill him, so he unlocked super strength so that he could overpower him; and so on. He grew up to be a bounty hunter. On one of his missions, he found himself in a fight against an angel. The fight went on for weeks, but Simon eventually killed the angel. He took the angel’s wings and named himself “Anti-Angel”. But, the battle came at the price of his eyesight, leaving him blind for the rest of his life. Since then he has been searching for another opponent worthy to use his full power against. He is not a bad guy, but doesn’t try to save people either. Simon is currently training a young protege named Mirror to control and utilize her powers. Simon is a deadly opponent and a powerful ally.

What do y’all think, I feel like the backstory is a bit shaky, and I’ll probably change it later. Let me know if you like it!

A bunch of new dudes arrives in Victoria's studio, which seems to be some kind of teleportation window to Trolliwood. Since the members of this infamous gang are not in the story yet, let's just call them Dude 1, Dude 2 etc. starting from the left...

Dude 1: "You can burn my house, steal my car, drink my liquor from and old fruit jar. Do anything that you wanna do, but uh-uh, honey, lay off of my big brown cigar!"

Dude 2: "It's a pity they didn't have actual cigs. I hear there's a guy here who keeps smoking them all away."

Dude 3: "He doesn't live in this house, though. Look! There's pictures of him on those magazine covers! He must be famous!"

Dude 5 (in the back): "I hear he's a singer. I think he's going to record his debut album in this studio. I'm touching this mic just in case!"

Dude 6: "This looks cosy. I could settle down here."

Dude 7: "Me too! Now where can I hang my jacket?"

Dude 8: "I was here first! I'm already sitting, dudes!"

Dude 4: "Is it just me, or do you guys think someone is looking at us? Right theeeere."

"Something went wrong, Seth. When you went through, something went wrong."

A transporter is a fictional teleportation machine used in the Star Trek universe. Transporters convert a person or object into an energy pattern (a process called "dematerialization"), then "beam" it to a target location, where it is reconverted into matter ("rematerialization"). The term "transporter accident" is a catch-all term for when a person or object does not rematerialize correctly.

A transporter in the Gerry Anderson episode of Fireball XL5 entitled 'The Forbidden Planet' (broadcast in March 1963) predates the Star Trek version. Although dematerialisation is implied, there are no special effects other than vanishing and re-appearing.

According to The Making of Star Trek, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry's original plan did not include transporters, instead calling for characters to land the starship itself. However, this would have required unfeasible and unaffordable sets and model filming, as well as episode running time spent while landing, taking off, etc. The shuttlecraft was the next idea, but when filming began, the full-sized shooting model was not ready. Transporters were devised as a less expensive alternative, achieved by a simple fade-out/fade-in of the subject.

Transporters first appear in the original pilot episode "The Cage". The transporter special effect, before being done using computer animation, was created by turning a slow-motion camera upside down and photographing some backlit shiny grains of aluminium powder that were dropped between the camera and a black background.

(Scotty isn't actually a Scotsman - - James Doohan was born in Canada, though his parents both emigrated from Ireland. )

The phrase "beam me up, Scotty" was never spoken on any Star Trek TV show or movie. This is an example of a popular phrase coming from nothing, such as "elementary, dear Watson" or "play it again, Sam." There were a few instances where a character spoke a similar line, such as "beam us up Mr. Scott" or "Scotty, beam us up," but the actual full line was never spoken.

James Doohan actually named his autobiography Beam Me Up, Scotty. This is proof of how ingrained this phrase became in our minds.

This is my latest entry to Squeam’s contest. I won’t be giving every detail out, as you can check out my album of profiles and stuff. This is just a relaunch and semi-reboot of the team. Hopefully you would like the redesigns.

This photo was taken in front of the Moretti tower in the borough La Défense in Paris. There was this installation with a car upside down which created a rather special universe. While viewing the photo recently, I decided to rotate the photo twice so that the car wouldn't be upside down. For me, the feeling that emerges from the photo is of an image akin to science fiction, hence the title.

"Beam me up, Scotty" is a catchphrase and misquotation that made its way into popular culture from the science fiction television series Star Trek: The Original Series. It comes from the command Captain Kirk gives his chief engineer, Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, when he needs to be transported back to the Starship Enterprise.(Wiki)

The quote "Beam me up, Scotty!" has been extended beyond its original meaning to describe an expression of "the desire to be elsewhere", or the desire to be out of an unwanted situation. Along with this, it has been associated with things that are futuristic, such as the possibility of teleportation. (Wiki)

No, not a teleportation pad, but a foundation for one of the 64 radio telescope dishes of MeerKAT.

Apparently the iPhone 6 has a teleportation app. Or it may just be that my AT-1 has pretty much no light seals left!

I sort of already uploaded this image, but from a different viewpoint.

The advantage of having a drone with you is that - with a bit of experience and skill - you have the opportunity to capture a second, almost completely different image of the same subject, almost at the same time. I mean, you can't get any closer to teleportation than this.

In this scenario, the rapeseed field looked amazing from the ground, but from above, it left a lot to be desired thanks to a few bald patches. After shamelessly harvesting the power of the clone stamp tool in PS, this is how the scene looks from a (slowly and lowly flying) bird's eye view.

How much cloning and post processing do you consider "cheating"? Is this already too much in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below!

Theme: Pink - Aerosmith

Similar to Active Worlds, Worlds.com is another of the myriad of virtual worlds that popped up in the mid to late 1990's. Unlike Active Worlds, Worlds remains mostly like an archive to the past, with pretty much the main updates to this virtual world having to do with maintaining the servers and making sure that it can work on the latest operating systems.

Aerosmith World is one of the main regions that you can access by the basic set of spaces you can teleport to without needing access to private servers. That said, there is nothing creepy pasta revealed here. It's just the usual cringe you get from Aerosmith in the late 90's. I would gather by the video here (which still works!), 'Pink', off their Nine Lives album, that this space was made to help promote its release back in 1997.

So yeah, SL wasn't the only world in the metaverse that, for a few years, had the eye (and funding) of the entertainment industry before they dropped it for the next big thing. This happened to Worlds 10 years before Second Life had the big push back in 2007. That Worlds is still around 25 years later should give some hope that Second Life could be around to celebrate it's 25th birthday 10 years from now. The moral being that the longevity of the metaverse isn't found in commercialism, but in community.

Note: I have come to consider places like Worlds and Active Worlds as being open virtual worlds. These were the pioneers of virtual spaces on the internet, and among the first to quote Snow Crash, even begin to coin 'metaverse' and web3.0 in trying to explain what they are. Therefore, any group that, in a general sense, speaks of themselves as an open world, open life, virtual world, web3.0, or hypergrid, seems appropriate appropriate groups to add them to. After all, these virtual worlds were very much ahead of the game and developed a lot of the aspects that make up our virtual world experiences even to this day. Not only did they have teleportation to different regions, but to different servers, even without utilizing a hypergate, but simply by teleporting to that server, as long as you had that server's coordinates. If you don't agree with this definition, let me know, and I won't post these in your group.

Active Worlds, does have an 'immigration' system in place, possibly for safety measures, intending to insure that underaged people don't wind up down the rabbit hole of more mature worlds beyond the more general, G to PG worlds they have in their generic list of places to teleport to. Worlds doesn't have such measures, though it's not that easy to get to the creepy pasta private servers without actively looking for them by either finding the people that built those private worlds, or looking for references of these places in obscure areas on the internet. In other worlds, you're likely not to find super creepy stuff without actively seeking it out. There also are moderators that watch the general chat, so, while a few people may slip through the cracks, the community appears to moderate these things. Most anything I've found in both worlds I've explored have been mostly G to PG, with a few cringy stuff, and yet hardly anything compared to what you can find in various moderate and adult grids and regions on SL. Not to say the creepy pasta stuff isn't true, but again, you have to actively look fort it, It's like complaining about seeing a dragon naughty bit on SL when you were searching the furry or fantasy adult sims and regions on SL. If you don't want to see it, don't seek it out.

Today's the day for bricks and beers and I to post our #collabmas2022 post! thenotoriousbricks put together a group of 50 people to randomly pair up for the first 25 days of December, so that each pair could meet up and create a special collaboration for the holidays. Ben and I agreed to challenge each other to make three holiday themed superhero names for the other person to build. This is what we came up with!

Left to right: Wreck-It Ralphie (A Christmas Story), The Mightiest Reindeer, and The Ghost of Christmas' Present

Check here for Ben's figures!

Left to right (with his own descriptions):

Doctor Gingerbread used to be a scientist investigating new forms of travel when a crumb of Gingerbread got dropped in the teleportation chamber. Now he samples all of the cookies that Santa brings back to the North Pole in a search for the perfect cookie recipe.

The Mistletoer was a simple office worker until Corporate forced him to work on Christmas, missing his dying wife's last holiday. Now he skates through the night, hanging mistletoe wherever there is a need for Christmas cheer.

Captain Candy Cane used to be an undercover detective, but all the sugar got to his head. Now he fights crime in the seedy underground of the largest Elf city.

Thanks to both my partner and the creator of the collab idea again! It was fun doing this. Go check out the hashtag for the rest of the people posting this month!

Still working through the pics for the art sim I found. I thought I'd share this to kind of show some of the pride the community of Active Worlds has had over the years. This is what you are greeted with when you teleport into the America region. They appear to be community awards from 2006 - 2008, roughly the time that Second Life was starting to go big. It's interesting to think that Active Worlds for 10 years had teleport abilities, as well as being able to go from different regions on different servers long before SL, OpenSim, and hypergrid were a thing. Thus paying homage to one of the earliest online virtual worlds that pioneered the early days of Web 3.0.

It also goes to show that if you have a strong community of active users in your virtual world, it can remain viable, at least to those that remain dedicated to the platform. Who knows? maybe some day we'll be featured in those creepy pasta videos where people explore the hidden secrets and cult of the nearly abandoned world of Second Life. 😏👌

I FINALLY made my spidersona! Info below:

Name: Xzavier (nicknamed Fant)

Alias: Spider-Fant

Age: 18 (about to be)

Powers:

-Wall Crawling (obviously)

-Spider Senses

-Increased Strength/Agility

-Increased Flexibility (he wasnt too flexible before being bitten)

Bit of backstory: Grew up with a bit of a rough childhood. Father abused his mother emotionally, sometimes almost physically, and he was always forced to be in the middle of it all by his father and grandmother. Parents divorced, father in and out of his life, until he went over the edge and communication was cut off. His family moved to Dallas from the small state of South Carolina. Moving to the city was a big change, but he adjusted well and developed connections to a scientific organization run by Norman Oscorp. While touring the building, he was bitten by a radioactive spider and given his unique abilities!

Extra info:

-He lives on his own Earth multiverse, but has had experiences with multiverse teleportation. It was through other heroes, though.

-Ridiculous and joking personality, but is still able to act mature and responsible when the time calls for it.

-Yes, he actually does have a short torso and long limbs. He's also 6 ft tall and lanky.

Since I'm on a winter vacation this week, I figure I might check out a few virtual worlds outside of Second Life.

For some who may not know, Active Worlds is one of the oldest virtual worlds that is still online. It began in the mid 90's, so survived the dial-up days of the internet.

Of course, it's been updated quite a bit since then, as can be seen with the multimedia capabilities at this drive in scene. When you enter the area, the environment automatically goes to an early evening sky and lighting, and even the projector room has a light bloom come out of the window it is set up in. The movie doesn't seem to be streaming as much as uploaded, so can't say for certain if they have a live stream movie capability. But it's still pretty impressive considering that this type of media would be pretty much impossible during the early days. You were lucky if you could share .gif animated images back then. So yeah, pretty impressive update work here.

After building a prototype in early summer I finally built the large version I had originally envisioned.

Walt Disney World, Disney's Hollywood Studios - 10/23/13

Kind of like the effect in this one. Was feeling kind of Twilight Zoney and decided to take it in that direction. What do you think?

Backstory:

Even though the city is called Sunrise City, that doesn't mean that everything is sunshine and rainbows. For Vivo Mccray, it was hell. He grew up in an abusive family, where his father would beat his mother, and Vivo. He had to endure so much pain throughout his childhood. During that time, he would find his escape through music, where you can just lose yourself. He would forget about the real world, and just dance to the beat of the song. One day though, he decided enough was enough, and tried to run away from home. His father had different ideas, so he smashed Vivo's ipod, and pummelled Vivo. Vivo was able to break free, and run out onto the streets. He thought about going back to save his mother, but what could he do? While walking all night to find somewhere to live, Vivo came across a new ipod and headphones to go with it. He plugged the headphones in, and put them on. He scrolled through the music, and chose the first song that intrigued him. As soon as the first beat dropped, he felt different. He felt electricity flow through his veins. All of the sudden, he shot electricity out of his hands. "What the heck is going on?" he says, confused. He puts his hands out in front of him and feels the electricity. He shoots out another bolt. "How am I doing this? What's wrong with me?" He picks another song. That feeling of electricity fades away. "Phew, that was a close one!" But he then realizes, that he's on top of a rooftop that is across the street from where he was without even moving a muscle. "Ok, something is definitely wrong..." He then realizes that he may have extraordinary abilities. To test his theory, he scrolls through different genres of music and sees what happens. With Dubstep/house/electronic music, he gains control over Electricity. "Oh man, this is so cool." Next up, he listens to Classical music. He starts to say all these different things that he never knew before. Classical gives him Enhanced Intelligence. Earlier when he teleported, he was listening to some of the most popular music in the area. "Let's see what Rap/RNB has in store." He dances around trying to see what it will do. "Nothing... that can't be right." So he starts to walk across the rooftop, and starts to go faster, and faster. He's about to reach the end of the building, and he starts to panic. "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon," he says rapidly as he franticly switches genres. He starts to fall down to the ground, and as he selects the next song with that country twang, he stops falling. "What happened?" He looked below, and saw that he was 20 feet off the ground. He started to fly around, though in the excitement of it all, he skips to the next song. "Oh crap." He falls down to the ground. "ow!" He yelps, but realizes that it didn't hurt that much. "Thank you rock music." He sees a car on fire, with someone inside. He runs over, and tries to pry off the car door. He succeeds, with very little effort. "Ok cool, I'll probably need to write this all down somewhere though..." He grabs the girl inside. and runs away before the car is fully engulfed in flames.. "Tha'nk you, she says panting." "No worries!" Vivo says with a smile on his face. He realized he had taken off the headphones to hear what she had said. Nothing happened, no electricity, no teleport, no flying, nothing... He proceeds to put his headphones back on, with some blues playing now. All of the sudden he can hear all these different things, as if he can hear the thoughts of everyone around him. He decides from that day forward, that he would use these powers for good, and to stop scum like his father from ever hurting anyone ever again. He calls himself Beatdown.

Alright there's my first entry into the second week of Thomas' contest. Here's the summary of what genre gives him what just for reference. I didn't mention a couple of them in the backstory, cause there was a lot to fit in as it is. Also did not mention that his costume changes according to each genre as well. The fig you see here is in his Jazz outfit. Hope you all enjoyed reading about Beatdown, cause it was fun making him. I got the idea from reading reddit a couple months ago.

Alter Ego: Sheriff Dino

Name: Dino Saur'veloca

Allegiance: Hero

Powers:

* Highly advanced heightened senses

* Superhuman stamina, durability, speed and reflexes and eyesight (in his one eye)

* Mild healing factor

* Advanced Strength

* High resistance to high temperatures

* Can go without water and food for 2 weeks maximum before showing signs of hunger and or thirst

* Is able to see in thermal and even night vision as well as standard eyesight

Weapons:

* Dual laser pistols

* Two trained Raptors

Key Weakness: In city conditions he is easily distracted and has difficulty harnessing his heightened senses to the atmosphere.

Origin:

Dino Saur'veloca comes from a planet almost exactly like Earth except for the fact that Dinosaurs didn't die out and evolved overtime to become like humans. Everyone of the populations are named "Dino" and their last names resembling that of their species, due to his species identifying one another via scent. Undeveloped dinosaurs are used as pets and controversially as meat, however Dino uses them as pets to help him hunt. He eventually became a sheriff in one of his Ecosystems and singlehandedly took down one of the T-Rex Gangs that had been hassling the locals for meat, Sheriff Dino was notoriously known as one of the best law enforcers but his fame soon went up in flames. Sheriff Dino discovered a Human had crashed on his planet and Instead of devouring the human which is the way of his species he rescued the human from her burning vessel (damaging his eye). He then nurtured the human back to health and helped her rebuild her ship which was shot down by his species. Sheriff Dino always seen his planet as quite primitive despite their modern technology so when he was asked to join her on her adventure to Earth he did not hesitate to accept and board her vessel.

The two would share stories about their lives, her species had no use for names and were all telepaths that did not age, for centuries her kind watched Earth which was becoming a danger to their way of life. A new species amongst Earth called Metahumans had stemmed from a mutation in the human genetics that was creating various powered beings, some with teleportation had become known to her planet and proved to be a threat to it. If just one of those types of Meta invaded her planet they could bring others and soon chaos would rear its ugly head. Sheriff Dino asked her why her species just didn't destroy Earth since they seemed to be such a threat and she replied saying, that's why they had sent her on her voyage, to try and isolate the bad from the good and achieve world piece. Only then will her planet be safe from Humanity but first she must save Humanity from themselves and be their Angel of sorts.

When they arrived at Earth but before they parted ways the woman gave him and his pets a gift her species is able to offer, non ageing, which he hesitantly accepted. The two parted ways but she confirmed they would meet again, overtime Sheriff Dino became a bounty hunter as for his female companion she would be notoriously known another way...

Finally, I got all my exams done and I’m ready to head back home! Also, stay tuned for my last posts, as I will be a little busy packing up.

The team doesn’t not belong to me, they are all creations of senselessboy . However, seeing these characters with potential, I wrote them backstories and gave them quite names and powers as well:

Countercut: Tagaki Masato was abused at an early age, due to his teleportation powers being considered a sin. He later grew up to be a mercenary and assassin, and found tutelage under a master, who trained him to be better and control his powers. The master gave Tagaki a set of mystical armour and sword, which was quite invulnerable. He then shifted his focus to protecting the world, until he met his half brother, the Red Ghoul. After joining Defiance’s team, he seeks to build a better relationship with Red Ghoul. He is the fourth recruit of the team.

Blueclad: Noel Johnson Price, a British Olympic level athlete, was injured after a major accident. On the way to the hospital, he was struck by lightning, and his friend, who was a scientist, took him to

Defiance’s lab, where they put armour on Noel. It saved his life, despite the cost of his right arm and left leg being paralysed. However, Noel was able to generate electricity, and create shocking claws that could latch onto someone like wire. Noel is often required to wear the suit, otherwise he will unleash his powers everywhere. He is the very first recruit in Defiance’s team.

Roughglove: The identity of Roughglove is relatively unknown. Being the most mysterious member of the group, he is able to generate rocks from his palms and use it for offensive and defensive purposes. Rumour is that he wears a mask to cover his scarred face, otherwise, he rarely speaks. He was recruited because Defiance saw good in him and his unique powers. He is the third recruit of the team.

Defiance: Marcus James, a Canadian surgeon and scientist, was seeking to improve health through better products. However an accident blinded him and removed his “face”, rendering him emotionless and his skin white. He also developed light powers, and decided to use it for good. He then went on to recruit talented individuals to help fight against evil. However, little does his team know that he struggles with changing his face and skin back to normal, only able reverse it for one hour.....

Black Termite: Emily Valdez had a fascination with insects, most notably termites. She was gifted like her deceased parents, but then she decided to inject termite mixed with superhuman DNA of her father’s to her own blood. This resulted in Emily getting a bit of a mutation luckily, but also made her being able to fly, grow claws that can chop through wood, floors, walls and etc. She is also able to control termites for different purposes, mostly friendly. Until then, she has been the second recruit of Defiance, who she helps with his experiments, and is considered to be his best protege.

Red Ghoul: Soma Matabei is Tagaki’s half brother, but is relatively unknown to him, despite hearing stories of one another. Soma was able to transform into a red mist-like substance and was able to travel through walls, which his abilities were praised. Years later, he met Tagaki on a field where he was working as a mercenary for Tagaki’s rival organization. Both fought until they realised they were sort of related, until Defiance brought him into the team after Tagaki. Despite having some trouble with their relationship, they still care for one another. He is the last recruit of the team before his half brother.

Dematerialisierung als erster Schritt zur Teleportation...

Dematerialization as a first step towards teleportation...

Dinah Lance is the daughter of the original Black Canary, Dinah Drake.

The younger Dinah has her own "canary cry" which she can control. Growing up surrounded by her mother's friends in the disbanded JSA (seeing them as uncles and aunts), she wished to be a costumed hero like her mother, but the elder Dinah discouraged her, feeling that the world has become too dangerous for her daughter to succeed.

Regardless, Dinah finds fighters (including former JSA member Wildcat) who help her hone her skills, and after years of dedication and training, she assumes the mantle of Black Canary despite her mother's opposition. Like her mother, Dinah operates out of Gotham, with a day job in the family floral business.

After joining the Justice League, Dinah meets Green Arrow (Oliver Queen). Although she dislikes him at first, they become romantically involved despite their age difference. Dinah is a League member for about six years, including a brief stint with Justice League International (JLI, which she helps found).

After her mother's death from radiation poisoning received during her battle with Aquarius, Dinah feels that her time in the JLA is over. She moves to Seattle with Green Arrow and opens a flower shop, Sherwood Florist.

When former Batgirl Barbara Gordon is seriously injured by the Joker, Barbara reestablishes her crime-fighting career as Oracle, information broker to the superhero community.

After briefly working with the Suicide Squad, she forms a covert-mission team. Since Barbara thinks that of all the superheroes Dinah has the most potential, Oracle asks Black Canary to become an operative.

Black Canary reinvents herself, trading her blonde wig for bleached blonde hair. Her relationship with Oracle is rocky at first, since her impulsiveness clashes with Oracle's organization. Gradually, they learn to work together and became friends. When Oracle flees from Blockbuster Dinah rescues her and meets Barbara Gordon, deepening their friendship.

Infinite Crisis gives Earth a new timeline, with Wonder Woman again a founding member of the Justice League. In a Week 51 back-up feature of 52, Black Canary is at the battle which forms the League. Its core is Black Canary, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), the Martian Manhunter, the Flash (Barry Allen), Aquaman, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Dinah and Oliver become engaged and this inspires the Injustice League to plan to attack the wedding. The villains efforts are thwarted.

Dinah resigns as JLA chairwoman after the team's confrontation with the Shadow Cabinet. After learning that Ollie began his own Justice League with Hal Jordan, she confronts him when he arrives at the Watchtower to warn her of an attack on the world's superheroes.

Prometheus arrives and attacks the team, severing Red Arrow's arm and maneuvering Dinah into the path of an energy bolt fired by Mikaal Tomas. After Prometheus is defeated, he destroys Star City with a teleportation device. In their search for survivors, Dinah and Ollie discover the bloody body of Roy's daughter, Lian. Dinah goes to Roy's hospital bedside with Donna Troy to break the news about his daughter when he emerges from his coma.

Through many trials and heartbreaks, Dinah continues to persevere as the Black Canary and has transformed from the young daughter trying to convince her elders that she can be a super-heroine to one of the most respected leaders in the hero community.

From Wikipedia:

The Salton Sea is a saline, endorheic rift lake located directly on the San Andreas Fault in California's Border Region. The lake occupies the lowest elevations of the Salton Sink in the Colorado Desert of Imperial and Riverside Counties in Southern California. Like Death Valley, it is below sea level; currently, its surface is 226 ft (69 m) below sea level. The deepest area of the sea is 5 ft (1.5 m) higher than the lowest point of Death Valley. The sea is fed by the New, Whitewater, and Alamo rivers, as well as agricultural runoff drainage systems and creeks. More.

We saw Wonder Man* before, so now let's take a look at his unique power set.

Ten powers that Wonder Man possesses are of note:

Power Recycling

In Wonder Man Vol 2, the character's powers started getting increasingly unstable, largely due to his own mental issues. This resulted in a new ability of power recycling. Basically, it allowed him to transfer his discharges of ionic energy to temporarily gift his powers to others in his vicinity.

Giant Leaps

Wonder Man can leap several hundred feet by concentrating his ionic energy on his legs. This proved to be a convenient method to cover longer distances when he didn't possess flying abilities (or the jetpack that he relied on earlier).

Despite his gigantic strides, the standalone Wonder Man series states that he still cannot leap as far as other powerful Marvel characters like the Hulk. Still, giant leaping would be ranked lower in his power set, given that it has been rendered almost useless ever since he started honing his flying skills.

Hand-To-Hand Combat

Trained in martial arts like Aikido by Captain America, Wonder Man is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, an ability that can also be seen in his second life as a stuntman and actor in Hollywood.

His superhuman durability allows him to withstand any sort of physical damage during unarmed combat duels. So, even though his fighting skills would be exceptional, they can be somewhat latent in opportunities where he can use a variety of other powers, such as teleportation, and shape-shifting, among others.

Flight And Superhuman Speed

While he initially relied on a rocket pack, Wonder Man began figuring out his own inherent flying skills following his death and subsequent evolution. Since Wonder Man #23, the hero has often used super flight to cover distances, a better alternative to his giant leaps. He is equally proficient on the ground as an expert athlete, fast enough to run between an assassin and her target, as shown in Wonder Man #1.

As per Mighty Avengers: Most Wanted Files #1, his speed can reach limits of 700 mph. And while he can fly through the air at subsonic and supersonic speeds, the maximum limit of his speed is still unknown, making it difficult to rank him among the fastest-flying characters of Marvel.

Teleportation

Teleportation became a part of Wonder Man's roster of powers quite later, but it has been quite useful in the few instances when he has been able to display the power. Once when he had gone against the Avengers in The Avengers Annual Vol 4 #1, he teleported at will even when his peers tried to detain him in a containment bubble. He even managed to defeat Red Hulk quite easily in a bout with little punches, changing his position from one point to the other, outwitting his gargantuan enemy.

Shapeshifting

Even though he prefers keeping his human form as Simon, the raw ionic energy that forms his body allows him to manipulate his own size at will. He can even manipulate his own body parts to create weapons, notably turning his hand into a sickle or even turning into a demonic being to battle Mephisto in his standalone series.

Wonder Man prefers staying in his original size but can attain gigantic levels if required. One of his most iconic comic moments remains to be the time when he fought his adversary Goliath by turning into a being that was even taller than him (Goliath, being one of the biggest Marvel characters, can reach a height of 15 to 20 feet in comics). This power, while used less, is definitely one of his strongest trains that can put him in direct competition against Hulk-like creatures.

Super Reflexes And Senses

Even in moments that don't require much action, Wonder Man boasts enhanced reflexes and super senses such as superhuman hearing and energy vision. Hank Pym and his daughter Nadia van Dyne play a major role in helping him develop his senses further by making him feel and detect energy forms such as radiological energy.

Superhuman Strength

While superhuman strength is quite common among other members of the Avengers, Wonder Man's strength is quite notable that can even come close to the levels of a godly being like Thor. Baron Zemo and Wonder Man himself have proudly declared this fact The Avengers #9 and The Avengers #178, respectively. In fact, Captain America even compared his strength to the levels of that of the Superman-like antihero Sentry in Avengers: The Children's Crusade #3.

His strength was initially a byproduct of Baron Zemo's experimentation on him, but it has only increased further as he has played around with his ionic energy levels. Naturally, the superhuman strength is also bound to grant him enhanced levels of stamina and withstanding damage. All of this easily makes Wonder Man one of the most powerful Avengers in Marvel Comics.

Ionic Energy Manipulation

The vast amounts of energy present in Wonder Man's body can be manipulated, mainly through his hands and eyes, to destructive levels. In fact, the damage can be so much that Wonder Man doesn't even use it always. Over time, while fighting alongside the Avengers, he even figured out how to convert this energy into tangible force fields and other energy constructs.

Wasp and Beast also helped him to manipulate not just his own energy but also electromagnetic energy fields. Wonder Man owes a lot of his other powers also to his energy manipulation, and for this reason alone, it remains one of his strongest and most identifiable traits.

Immortality

Wonder Man also happens to be one of the Marvel characters who are virtually immortal. Yes, like almost every other Marvel hero, he too has had his fair share of deaths and comebacks, but his physical composition as a being of raw energy makes him as invincible as Doctor Manhattan from Watchmen.

The ionic energy prevents him from aging or succumbing to any serious injuries or diseases. An entity that's a hundred percent energized all the time, he can also sustain himself without any food, water, or even oxygen. His immortality turns him into a nearly indestructible being with limited weaknesses, taking the top spot among his various other powers.

* As seen in BP 2021 Day 274!

www.flickr.com/photos/paprihaven/51538453767/

After a little bit of ass kicking, we had finished off this squad of Gordanians, but we had to settle down and figure out a plan.

“So, I think it’s time that we figure out a plan.”

“Yeah, these guys are pretty tough, especially the lieutenant” Donna says, she’s tired, that guy really took a toll on her.

“I think our best plan is to wait for the next pod, then I may be able to use some of my powers to push us up on a platform made of water.”

“Well, I could fly us up on my back, if I change into the right animal” I suggest, I had done something like that back in the Doom Patrol, god has it been four months since I left Dayton, you know everything seemed alright, the Mr.Farr died, and I was stupid enough to leave home, and live alone in NY, what an idiot.

“That sounds alright, but if they shoot at us, and hit you, you could be wounded badly” Garth says, he’s looking out for me, and I know it, but I feel like if we fly right now it’d be easier.

“Alright, well I’ll scout ahead, see if there’s a pod, be right back!” Wally says, and then zooms out. Suddenly I swear I hear something behind me, but I’m too late.

“Don’t move, otherwise he gets it!” Someone yells out, it’s an alien, the one that was right behind me, damn I should have checked to see that he was out cold. I see my crewmembers watch on, they don’t know what to do, and that’s acceptable, I just wish they could get me out of this.

“It’s alright guys, I’m sure I’ll be fine, I got this” I laugh, but it’s a forced laugh, hoping that it convinced them, but It probably didn’t, they’re prepared to bolt in, but this guy’s trigger finger might be too fast. Suddenly a loud sound rings out from behind me, am I dead, oh god I have so much I wish I could do, I look down and see no mark in my chest.

THUMP

My team looks confused and relieved, I shrug my shoulders and turn around, and see something completely confusing, a girl, about my age, a cloak with a hood, and an outfit that looks a lot like a one-piece bathing suit, mixed with a robe, showing a lot of nice leg, shut up Gar, you’re on the job, don’t let that stuff get to ya, and some tall boots.

“So, who the hell are you?”

“My name is Raven, I’m here to help you all.”

“Okay, so what do you mean by that?” Garth says, looking pretty confused, for a sorcerer, he doesn’t seem to know anything about teleportation, but this very nice looking person, may have a few more tricks.

“I’ve been influencing you becoming a team, while two of your other friends I was unable to get, thanks to influences that revolve around big event happening soon” then Wally seems to have a look of revelation on his face as he then shouts.

“Hey, you were the person in my dreams right?” she then nods her head and begins to explain.

“I was able to set you on this path, by Influencing your minds, and I can see that It worked, now, I’d like to bring you aboard that ship.

“Alright, I’ll go up there with Kid Flash, and Changeling” Garth says, as he looks at me and Wally.

“Well I think we’ll need a disguise to get up there, after all, I don’t think these costumes will be taken very well” then Wally smiles, he has an idea, and he probably has me in a humiliating role.

“You know that movie you had a background role in not too long ago” my face goes the closet to pale it can, not too long ago I had a background role in a very prominent Sci-Fi film, and now, we’re going to relive those memories.

“And Changeling, I’d get one of those alien suits on” he smiles, oh crap, looks like I’m about to beam up.

Hope V2 - Issue #6 "Friends"

*Vanessa was heartbroken after hearing about Callum's parents. However, she knew what had to be done, she had to help stop them from killing Callum, the only one even strong enough to beat them. She wanted to do everything she could to keep him safe, not only because she loved him but also because she owed him, he saved her and her brothers life. Now it was time she saved his. While Callum slept off his "teleportation sickness" Vanessa stayed by his side, she had never seen him so damaged, it scared her how he was going to give in and let his parents kill him, thankfully she saved him. Good job he missed their date or she wouldn't of shown. Her brother, Nico, arrived to help her out after she called him in about all that had happened. Once he showed in costume Callum changed into his spare suit that he kept at Vanessa's for an emergency. He then immediately phoned his friend, Mitch, who's phone kept ringing.*

Hope: "He's not answering, he normally picks up after the first ring."

*Vanessa and Nico seem unfazed until they hear the panic in Callum's voice as he holds the phone to his ear, her room is deadly quiet, the only sound is the ringing of Callum's phone. A faint click of someone answering is heard and Callum gets to his feet*

Mitch: "C-Cal?"

Hope: "Mitch, are you okay?!"

*A long pause fills the room building tension so thick Vanessa could see Callum holding his breath, holding the phone closely to his ear.*

Mitch: "Your uh... parents are here."

*Mitch cries out in pain and the phonecall ends. Callum drops his phone which cracks the screen, not saying a word. The tips of his fingers spark with energy as he clenches his fists. Nico stares at Callum who ignites his whole body like a matchstick with his yellow aura and flies through her ceiling into the air and zipping away into the night sky like a shooting star. *

Nico: "He's going to pay for that right? I mean like we don't go smashing up his house do we, sis? Sis?"

*Vanessa looks up into the night, gazing at the stars. She knows she can't stop Callum, nobody can, not even his parents. She's never seen him so angry, she felt his power radiating hatred, so much of it just waiting to be unleashed. The only thing his parents have achieved is making him even stronger. Mitch is like a brother to Callum, there's no telling what he will do to them for harming him... she just has Hope he won't regret his actions, then there's no going back.*

This is my entry in Fantxtix's minifig superhero/villain contest.

Real Name: Frank "Speedy" Turtle

Alias: The Evolved Turtle

Occupation: Superhero

Powers: Telekinesis, teleportation, humanoid body, advanced mind

Backstory: Frank "Speedy" Turtle was once a normal turtle living in the woods, when he was captured at a young age by government scientists. He was experimented on for years until one experiment went too far, presumably killing him. The scientists threw him away in a secret government nuclear waste center. What they didn't know was that he was still alive, and the energy from the waste mutated him into a humanoid form, and gave him special powers. The first thing he did was return to the lab he was experimented on, and killed all the scientists. However, this had major consequences, as the rest of his old turtle family was killed as well, for he did not know they were being experimented on as well. Frank dubbed himself "The Evolved Turtle" and used the experience that day as a lesson, only using his powers for others only. Using his brilliant mind, he built a high-tech turtle mech out of stolen military materials(he's more of a vigilante). Ever since, he has used it to fight off villains and avoid the military. The shell can fold out to reveal the interior, and the entire mech is heavily armored. There are two cannons positioned on the shoulders, one on the neck, and one in the head.
