Trying some pop art with a promotional poster for my GCW corporation. Took about a half hour in GIMP because I had to manually change the colors, and I now realized a way that could have taken 15 or less minutes. :-/

Army TACMS
The Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) is a long-range, surface-to-surface guided missile system. It is an evolutionary family of missiles that includes the Block I, Block IA, Block IA Unitary Block II and Penetrator missiles.
ATACMS Block I
- Contains 950 M74 antipersonnel / antimateriel submunitions
- Maximum range 165 km
- 1650 produced and fielded
ATACMS Block IA
- Improved guidance package with Global Positioning System
- Contains 300 M74 antipersonnel / antimateriel submunitions
- Maximum range is 300 km
ATACMS Block IA Unitary
- Carries a 500 lb class blast fragmentation warhead
- Maximum range is 300 km
ATACMS Block II
- Carries 13 Brilliant Anti-Armor (BAT) submunitions
- Maximum range is 140 km
Each ATACMS missile is packaged in a Multiple Launch Rocket System look-alike launch pod and is fired from the MLRS family of launchers. ATACMS is the only long-range tactical surface-to-surface missile ever fired in combat by the U.S. Army. When used in Operation Desert Storm, 32 Block I missiles were successfully fired and destroyed or rendered inoperable every target it engaged. More than 450 ATACMS missiles were successfully fired during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
- The Block IA missile nearly doubles the Block I range of earlier variants by reducing the payload of AP/AM bomblets and adding Global Positioning System Inertial Guidance for increased accuracy with equivalent lethality
- The Block IA Unitary has a blast fragment warhead. delivers a monolithic high explosive warhead where limited collateral damage is an operational consideration
- The ATACMS Block Il carries BAT submunitions that are dispensed by a gas bag management system and provide deep attack capability against moving targets.
- The ATACMS Penetrator, Advanced Technology Demonstration missile an Earth Penetrating Warhead designed to defeat hard targets.
ATACM development began in 1982 when the Army needed a successor to the Lance missile. The first flight occurred in April 1988 at White Sands Missile Range. More than 174 ATACMS missiles have been flight tested. ATACMS remains an active program on the range with test activity planned well into the future.

The Dal Lake is an eco-system of its own. With the large number of houseboats here and the tourists they attract, there are a large number of people here to cater to their needs. The local people also live here, move in the lake on smaller boats, setup local floating markets in the lake and use it as a transportation system. In this photo, this wooden boat is in a non-tourist part of the Dal Lake, where the Kashmiri Man is rowing a Kashmiri woman and apparently her daughter. The Dal Lake is one of the crowing glories of Srinagar, driving most tourists to the region. The lake is contained within the city of Srinagar and is not very large (you can drive around the outer edge of the lake within a matter of hours), with the outer permiter being around 16 kilometers. The lake forms an intergal part of the economy of the city, with tourism centered around the lake, and with fishing and water plant harvesting also happening on the lake. A large number of tourists live on the lake, in the large and beautiful house boats that are positioned in the lake (and in fixed positions, with all facilities available on the houseboats). In addition, the iconic site of tourists in the shikaras on the lake is a familiar sight, and every tourist does enjoy such a ride.
The gardens near the shore of the Lake (Shalimar, Nishaant, Chasme-Shahi) were developed by the great Mughal rulers who loved the climate of Kashmir and are incredibly beautiful. The lake is not very deep, with the deepest part of the lake being 6 meters. The unfortunate part is that for the past several decades, the lake has been seeing a reduction in the area covered by the lake, although in the past several years, there has been an effort to reduce the reasons for the reduction in the area covered by the lake. The lake is fed by some perennial streams and by spring sources.
During winter the lake presents another level of charm for tourists, with the temperate in Srinagar falling below zero, and the water surface of the lake freezing over. An incredible view of the lake is seen from the heights of the hill on which the Shankaracharya temple is located as also from Hari Parbat.
Erring on the side of caution, our Manatee Rescue Team used a winch system to retrieve the calf from the canal bank.

This is the best investment we have made in our new home.
When we picked out the options for our new house several years ago, I am glad we got this place prewired for a security system.
As soon as we moved in a security company was contacted and we were active.
It is worth every penny for the peace of mind we get.
There have been several homes in our development that have been broken into. None of them had security systems.
The sign out front helps too. Police say a lot of people just have signs and no system.

Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Sichuan, China 25 April 2009. Amazingly, the system was originally constructed in 265 BC by Li Bing, Governor of the Shu for the State of Qin. It was built on the River Minjiang, the longest tributary of the Yangtse, which was very prone to flooding at this point. Unfortunately, a very severe earthquake in 1933 destroyed much of the system but it was reconstructed to the same layout. Another earthquake in 2008 damaged it but it was repaired. Pictured is a view from the upstream end of an artificial island/dyke (the Yuzui or Fish Mouth Dyke) which divides the river into the inner (deep and narrow) and outer (wide and shallow) channels, the former being for irrigation purposes.
