The Halászbástya or Fisherman's Bastion
is one of the best known monuments in Budapest, located in the Buda Castle, in the 1st district of Budapest.
It is one of the most important tourist attractions due to the unique panorama of Budapest from the Neo-Romanesque lookout terraces.
The Fishermen's Bastion's main façade, parallel to the Danube, is approximately 140 meters long, of which the southern aisle is about 40 meters long, the north is 65 meters long, and the ornate central parapet is 35 meters long.

I can't help but the colors of this leaf makes me think of Jamaica. Probably because in Germany there are three political parties being symbolized by each of these colors, and a potential alliance between them is refered to as "Jamaica coalition" in the media 😊

A little longing memory to the just gone summer. Poppies symbolize the lightness for me and are my embodiment of the word summer. It seemed to be a nice idea to upload this beautiful imperfect blossom in the middle of November to give these times a little bit of light and easiness...

The Pont Alexandre III was built for the 1900 World Exhibition and was dedicated to the Tsar Alexander III. It is classified as a French Historical Monument.
Because of its architecture and its geographical location, this bridge is one of the most emblematic of the capital.
Each of its ends is decorated with one monumental pylon of 17 meters of height, adorned with one winged horse of golden bronze that symbolize the success of the arts, the sciences, commerce and the industry, respectively.
The bridge Alexander III joins the Invalides, on one side of the Seine, with the Grand and the Petit Palais on the other one.
Day and night, the panoramic view is magnificent.

This image was taken for the themed group Smile on Saturday. This week's theme is "floriography" The information below about the Gerbera Daisy comes from the following website. I personally found it to be very interesting and plan to visit the site to read about other flower meanings.
The gerbera daisy is native to South Africa and lush with bright colors and a happy beauty about it. These daisies are strong perennial plants with colors from deepest red to warm yellows, creams, white and peach shades. Not surprisingly the Victorian meaning of the gerbera daisy is happiness. The gerbera daisy seems to hold its rays open to the world radiating pure happiness. Who wouldn’t get a smile on their face when presented with a bouquet of these beauties?
What Does the Gerbera Daisy Mean? Gerbera Daisies have several meanings, but all lean to happiness. The Egyptian meaning of gerberas is closeness to nature and devotion to the sun. The Celts believed that the gerbera would lessen the sorrows and stresses of everyday life. Any type of daisy equals the truth or happiness of children. It is thought that if someone gives a gift of covered gerbera daisies that it symbolizes they are hiding something.
Etymological Meaning of the Gerbera Flower: The Latin name for the gerbera daisy is Gerbera jamesonii and is part of the large Asteraceae family of flowers. These daisies were named after the German botanist and doctor Traugott Gerber. Also known as the Transvaal Daisy. A Scotsman, Robert Jameson found these beauties growing wild around the dug up gold mines he was in charge of in Transvaal, South Africa, and Mr. Jameson is credited with also discovering these flowers.
The symbolism of the gerbera daisy is the simple beauty of a very happy life. Throughout history, the gerbera daisy has symbolized the innocent hearts of children, attributed to the white gerbera, and, happiness and gratefulness for the life you have been given. The meaning is more energized than contentedness or mellowness. It is happiness that bubbles, fizzes, and pops with joyous surprises.
There is an energetic playfulness to these flowers, which is evident in all their radiant colors. These are not flowers for regrets. These flowers are a celebration of life!
Gerberas are available in rich reds, oranges, yellows peaches, creams, and white and there a few distinct meanings including...
orange: sunshine of life
Red: unconscious in love or fully immersed in love
White: is a symbol of purity or innocence, childlike
Pink: admiration, adoration, or high esteem
yellow: cheerfulness
This lovely church symbolizes the tenacity of the pioneers in the Village of Manatee. Construction began in 1887 but halted when a yellow fever epidemic claimed the lives of the pastor and many in the congregation. But the community persevered. Two years later, the church opened to house the first Christian congregation south of Tampa on the Florida mainland.

For more than a century, beginning in 1855, the North Point Lighthouse stood tall, overlooking the water and beaming out its light to protect and guide ships and watercraft. Keepers and their families lived and worked at the North Point Light Station, ensuring that the bright light was broadcast through fair weather and foul. It symbolizes a time in our history when waterways were the highways between cities. Lighthouses facilitated water travel and commerce on Lake Michigan, throughout the Great Lakes and beyond.
It has recently been restored to its early 20th century charm through the determined efforts of a group of committed volunteers.

In Hawaii, the Plumeria Flower symbolizes the relationship status of the wearer. When a Plumeria Flower is worn in the hair over the right ear, it suggests that the lady is still single. If it's worn on the left side, it means that she is taken.
Flowers speak to us in many ways. They symbolize joy and abundance at weddings; they convey sadness and loss at funerals; they express love and devotion at any time. From the beginning of recorded history, flowers have wordlessly expressed our emotions and thoughts.

Tradescantia virginiana, the Virginia spiderwort (Commelinaceae family), the type species of Tradescantia native to the eastern United States.
Commonly grown in many gardens and also found growing wild along roadsides and railway lines
Tradescantia virginiana is a herbaceous plant with alternate, simple leaves, on tubular stems. The flowers are blue, purple, magenta, or white, borne in summer.
💙The name for the genus honors John Tradescant (1608-1662), a royal gardener to King Charles I of England.
The common name “Spiderwort” comes from its sap, which forms threads like a spider’s web when stems are cut.

The CLEMATIS flowers symbolize the beauty of INGENUITY or the trait of artifice. Many experts have suggested that this is most likely related to its wonderful and clever ability to climb around places such as walls as well as trellises. In terms of symbolic representation, it again represents the beauty of mental strength.

This Lily finally bloomed in our backyard. The Casa Blanca Oriental Lily is a favorite among gardeners and florists. In the garden its dazzling, fragrant 10" blooms are eye-catching and they attract butterflies. Delicate and fragrant, Oriental lilies are some of the most beautiful lilies to plant in the garden. Their fragrance permeates the summer breeze. Lilies symbolize devotion and humility and the White Lily, purity and innocence.
... and I dance for you on a blade of summer grass
A "something different" picture / A photo which symbolizes this summer.
The summer of 2018 is tough. We never had a summer like this here in Switzerland for almost 100 years. (Very hot and dry. Water is in need now.) When I saw this dried-up meadow during a walk with my dog Roco this morning, I thought that there were hardly any butterflies in it. But suddenly a small nondescript butterfly flew up, past me and sat on a blade of grass not far from me. As I approached, I first realized how tiny and lonely the only butterfly in this dry meadow seemed to me. Suddenly he opened his wings and I saw this royal blue glowing in front of me as someone said to me: "Look how beautiful the color of the sky is on the earth, even though much seems dead."
I was just touched by the beauty in front of me. I saw it as a present for me at this moment. And I would like to share this gift with my dear friends here. Thank you for your attention.

First summer days ...
... bring us joy and happiness
I would like to pass this on to all my dear friends with this photo. I wish you could feel this in your heart and take the warmth and the sunshine into your everyday life. This are the Fields of Gold.
I love it when the summer stretches out his arms and envelops me like in a warm blanket.
Meadows illuminated by sunlight fill the soul with warmth & well-being. At this place one finds back to inner peace and the harmony, that gives us great joy.
I am a child of the summer. I love the warming rays of the sun. I love the long days and mild nights. The summer gives us light from early in the morning until late in the evening. The summer also means vibrant life everywhere. I love to ride my motorbike through flowered landscapes and enjoy the scent of the fields. I love sitting on the shore of a lake on a mild evening and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature around me. Yes, I am a summer child deep in my heart. I feel life so intense in summer that I could rejoice with joy.
Dear friends, enjoy these warm and sunny days outdoors in nature or wherever you are. This time is so precious. The wonderful summer has come.
The butterfly symbolizes for me all the beauties of summer. For a good reason, the butterfly is also called the "summer bird".

Fourth of Cityscape Art Series…I was working towards a commissioned piece but it did not materialize, instead, this piece called “A City In Flames” came to fruition. According to tradition, the colors of the Ukrainian flag are interpreted as follows: blue symbolizes a clear sky, and yellow - wheat fields.
There is also a religious interpretation: according to it, blue is the power of God, and yellow is faith.
And in the sacred interpretation, blue is water that activates, and yellow is the solar and fiery beginning.
The flagpole is the largest in Ukraine: its height is almost 90 meters, its weight is 32 tons. The size of the flag is 16 by 24 meters.
