Awaiting disposal from the fleet is this armored Land Rover. To help reduce costs within the fleet, South Yorkshire opted to dispose of this to reduce the fleet size of these vehicles but remove un-needed assets. These vehicles have very limited use with the force.

Owing to funding restraints on Police Forces budgets, a number of teams/services have merged with other neighboring forces, presumably to share out the expenses and give wider use to specialist equipment. One such team which now appears to have merged is the Crime Scene Investigation team, as you can see YR63 UPL wears a 'Policing Yorkshire & Humber' logo rather than force logos. It is one of several Vauxhall Combo vans that the South Yorkshire team use which have replaced several types of vans over the past 10 years including Peugeot Experts, Ford Transit Connects and Ford Transits.

For many years, the standard rapid response vehicle in South Yorkshire has been the Ford Mondeo. The force throughout the past few years has seen a number of different mark Mondeos used on the role. YJ10JZM is being kitted up to become one of the rapid response vehicles, it will replace one of the older Mondeo's.

Ford Focus beat cars are a regular sight on the streets of South Yorkshire, almost brand new at the time, EO59HPE is seen in Rawmarsh Police Station.

The LDV Convoy was a common site on the streets of South Yorkshire throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The fleet would dramatically decrease in the late 2000s early 2010s as newer Mercedes-Sprinters became the new standard of PSUs. YR52VBE is seen at the fleet workshops, presumably awaiting disposal as it had just been replaced at Ecclesfield with a brand new Mercedes-Sprinter.

Late 2011 saw the South Yorkshire Police inherit a large amount of Vauxhall vehicles, mainly Astra beat vehicles at this stage. Since then, a number of additional Vauxhall vehicles have joined the fleet such as YJ12AZX which is one of a few Vauxhall Vivaro vans in the fleet.

Originally, this vehicle entered service in plain white and was used as what I believe to be an ancillary vehicle for the force, however, as displayed in this recent picture, it has now been kitted out with full markings and lightbars.

The Roads Policing Group received a relatively large batch of Volvo S60 traffic cars between 2008 and 2009. The Volvo S60/V70 was the preferred vehicle since the early 2000s, however, around 2005, traffic police seemed to get the S60 saloons rather than the V70s. YN58GMV is one such vehicle seen in Sheffield.
