Part of an increasing fleet of Peugeot 3008 SUVs being introduced to replace the aging Ford Kuga's. YN22BGE, at the time of shot, is one of th latest arrivals into the fleet.

Before being disposed from the fleet, some of the old vehicles removed from front line use seek a further life in a more relaxed environment such as YN07BZX which is now used by PCSOs on arranged house visits. It has had most of its livery removed and its lightbar.

Taking over the role from the Mitsubishi Evolutions are these superb looking Vauxhall Insignia 2.8VXRs. The Road Crime Unit at the time of the picture operate 3 of these vehicles around South Yorkshire with the possibility of a further 2 in the coming year.

In 2011, South Yorkshire Police added a further 2 Vauxhall Insignia VXR cars to their Road Crime Unit. The vehicles saw disposal of 2 57-reg Mitsubishi Evo's. YJ11AZB is one such vehicle.

Once dominated up and down the country by BMWs, the traffic fleets across the country are now becoming more diverse. South Yorkshire Police seem to have settled with Audi for their (marked) traffic cars
as can be seen by YN24ACV which was part of a batch of 5 in 2024, joining a previous batch delivered in 2021/22.

An amazing capture of all the Tactical Aid Groups vans. At the rear of the lineup is one of the groups old vans which has been converted to become a cage van now.
The Tactical Aid Unit vans are different to the normal police ones, due to the fact these carry storage shelf in the rear and not a cage for criminals.

This stunning Volvo V70 is part of the Armed Response pool and is seen at the Niagara Ground. At the time of the shot the crew were in the car and off attending to a live incident which armed response had been requested to attend.

Woontoren de Syp aan de Van Sijpesteijnkade in Utrecht betreft een gloednieuwe woonbestemming in een bijzonder stukje van Utrecht. De moderne en duurzame woontoren creëert woongelegenheid op een van de meest centraal gelegen locaties van Nederland. Met een omvang van 266 wooneenheden en een totale hoogte van 90 meter is het een van de hoogste woongebouwen van de stad. Bijzonder is dat het monument aan de Van Sijpesteijnkade blijft staan en onderdeel is van de woontoren.
Het bijzondere in dit project is dat het gebouw, dat wordt geëxploiteerd als appartementencomplex, over een bestaand monument heen is gebouwd.

There has been a couple of years between the last Mercedes-Benz Sprinters that were delievered, and between this time, a small fleet of Volkswagen Crafters were introduced as PSUs. In late 2017, approximately 8 brand new Mercedes-Benz Sprinters entered service across South Yorkshire, one such example is <YN67CHG which is seen in Sheffield. Note these are the first PSUs that don't feature a shield for the front windscreen.

In 2005, the Tactical Support Group received 5 brand new Mercedes-Benz Sprinters to replace the current Sprinters. The new Sprinters were delivered in this black livery as demonstrated by YJ10FYV. A number of vehicles used by support services such as underwater search unit have received this livery.

Peugeots were a common site around the late 90s and early 00s but the contract was passed to Ford in 2005 and then Vauxhall in 2011. From late 2015, Peugeot's started making another appearance to the streets of South Yorkshire in the shape of the 308 models in both hatchback and estate body styles. YN66CPK is one such vehicle that shows the estate variant of the 308 model with South Yorkshire Police.

I'm not usually one for uploading phone photos on my flickr, however, the vehicle seems to have escaped capture in this guise.
Y578HHL was previous green, and wore SYP "jam sandwich" livery. In 2011, it was given a makeover, which included a repaint into dark blue, and the introduction of battenburgs. At one time it was used by the Underwater Search Team, however, I believe by this point, the team had been regionalised, and I believe this was used as an operational support spare van. A few years later it would become a joint service welfare unit for South Yorkshire Fire, and South Yorkshire Police.

The training school recieve their vehicles with only logos and no batteburgs or livery. They have minimum blue lighting however they have detachable blue lights that can be applied on the top. YJ09HDX is the only BMW saloon used in the training school.

The 2010s have seen significant fleet changes within South Yorkshire, having seen the introduction of Vauxhall vehicles introduced in late 2011, and then replaced by different manufacturers 4 years later. YN66CRJ is one of the new Ford Transit Customs that have been introduced onto response duties recently. Under the Vauxhall contract, this would have been the Vauxhall Vivaro model.
