EMD SW9, ILSX 901 was an interesting addition to the consist on this eastbound BNSF train! A little research suggests this was lettered Minnesota Northern #901 as recently as Feb 2009.
Full caps "DARK", in a gothic font. The hole for the screw makes it look like "BARK"?
I'd thought about using "LIGHT" or "SWITCH" but Kathy had the brilliant idea of using "dark"

Another shot of the new 46 kV switch pole. The old switch poles here were made of steel lattice, but this new one is made of concrete. I have a film photo I took of one of the old steel lattice switch poles kicking around someplace... just have to find it.
