I don't know why, but this reminded me of a Second World War film. Must be the Naziesque uniform.

An Island from the Island Nation of Maldives, which I and other 300,000 people call home.

After figuring out how to do time lapse shots about a month ago, I couldn't wait to go on our family vacation to PEI where I could try some shots on the ocean.

I took this on a lovely summer evening on the coast of PEI. There are hardly any rocks on some of the beaches so I was struggling to find a foreground subject such as a rock to emphasize the movement of the water. Thankfully these stones were there, so I set down my tripod, prepared to be wet, and clicked the button.

I hope you like it!

finally started to do them chores i've been neglecting around the Okiya

I freakin' LOVE this figure. I love the bright blue colour and the design with the bat-like wings, suggestive to me of a fallen angel. The panel lines are sharp and cracked, not unlike the hatches on a stealth fighter. He's got slightly limited articulation compared to Hot Rod and Wreck-Gar, ie: no thigh swivel so his feet tend to stay pointed forward, it's a tiny gripe when the rest of the figure look so magnificent and Machiavellian.

Living in Portsmouth give us immediate access to the fantastic Historic Dockyard. The most recent additions seem to me to bookend what the place is all about: HMS M33 a Galipolli survivor, & Boathouse 4, where the damage caused is repaired & we start again.

Joe's not a spy, he's a chimney sweep and as a matter of fact he's been here before. Scroll back through the stream and you'll find him in all his black and white glory. He mentioned when I spoke to him that he would like to be a colourful sweep this time - so here goes.

was just fooling around between turns with shutter speeds........curling is a fun winter sport and great exercise

Not a Particularly Chistmassy picture, but it's all I've got at the moment...

So...

Happy Christmas!

Sorry I've been pretty much under the radar lately, but life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes.

Hope you all have fantastic holidays.

this little girl was sitting at the beach for about couple of hours like this .. wonder what makes her so sad .. or she just enjoys watching the sea !

Joe is one of my favorite characters, he can be found every year at the Pickering WWII Weekend and is always up for a bit of standing still for a minute. The first time I met him he almost knocked me on my tush as he came flying around a bend on his bicycle. I got the feeling that he felt he had to say yes when I asked for a pose. Nice guy and I'm looking forward to seeing him this year.

2022.

It's rare to spot tom turkeys in full display - and I shot these at a distance with my old S3 a few years ago. Wish shot was sharper. I haven't seen a displaying turkey since then.

Winter is bearing down on us....may need to replace this with a snow shovel soon.

During the long days of the Cold War, the Soviets began testing their biological weapons on small isolated villages within their own “Motherland”. Unknown to the world and their own people, these testings went perfectly well. When these experiments were finished, Spetsnaz Special “Sweep and Clear” units would be sent in to those villages affected to clean up the mess, and the victims.
