The Chimney Sweep checking my stove for this up coming wood burning season. Only a 101 heat index today.
Now THIS is my best render yet. The difference--using blender on my laptop for extra control. It was super easy to set up thanks to the Mecabricks add-on. The biggest benefit was the ability to use Linear ACES color managment. The colors seem much sharper and more in-line with photos of real bricks. The only issue is I couldn't get subsurfs onto the curvier parts, so just don't look too closely at them. (Also, my "studio lighting" setup needs work)
For the build, this is a bit cyberpunky/hibernia-y that I've had sitting around for a bit waiting to be rendered. I used it as a test model because it is a whole lot smaller and simpler than the others I've been posting. The model is based on some concept art from somewhere or someplace. One of those cyberpunk video games maybe, but who's ever heard of those...

Maybe of those distant sheep filled hillsides, who knows?
What we do know without any doubt whatsoever is that dogs dream, so presumably they Daydream ????

A roadside pulloff along Utah State Route 211 with a view looking to the south to awe inspiring views of mesas and buttes in this open valley along the Indian Creek Corridor. Talking with some people in Canyonlands National Park, I was made aware that this area is what was designated as part of Bears Ears National Monument...truly a beautiful view to take in and hopefully to remain with this designation. This area is currently under the BLM and the prominent mesa in the image is a Wilderness Study Area.
So having discussed what this area is, how did I capture it? I used a technique I've come to depend on with many landscape image and a wide angle view. I just angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward and include more of the foreground to let the eye sweep across until it comes across the prominent setting I wanted the image to focus. With the image itself, I did some adjustments in Capture NX2 with color and contrast and then exported a TIFF image to use in NIK CEP 4. I found a Sunlight filter best enhanced this setting and brought out a better complement of hues and colors with browns and reds on the mesa walls.
The original photo was of Sheboygan's chimney sweep art piece that I have often posted. Photofox Cloud Wanderer and Kaleidoscope components were used to create this image.

Been fooling around with a Sony Sweep Panorama point/shoot camera. Love the results. The camera is pretty inexpense between $245.00 - $ 290.00. Much less then the price of a cheap lense...

A gang of Wolfpack bandits try to raid the local wizard with one of them distracting him while the others go down the chimney. Operation "Chimney Sweep" did not go as planned...
An entry for Bandit's Raid over at the CC.
Note: I decided to keep the non Photoshopped background because I thought it added depth.
similar to a shot posted earlier in year (with people ghosted) , but i like this version better as it's more open & inviting (cleaner lines).
There is a story and a set of photos about the visit of a chimney sweep, over at GenevaLunch: www.genevalunch.com/node/2684
Not my normal image type but I was struck by the reflections of the road in the waters which were abnormally still for this body of water. The sweeping curve steers the eye along the road until it disappears out of sight in the distance. As some may be aware I have reversed the image for better composition as the road, which runs alongside Loch Awe in Argyll Scotland actually sweeps right to left at this point.
I have never attempted Surreal art before and was having a hard time producing an image to work with. This is called The Chimney Sweep. The "tower/chimney is a monument (my photo) in the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park dedicated to the soldiers of the Civil War. When I found this figurine on Pixabay I started the process. Enjoy!
Seeper taking a break. Perhaps to enjoy the glorious golden glow of a Beijing evening in late springtime. Beautiful eclectic exciting vibrant friendly China.
From today's dog walk. Will have to go back and explore these plants a bit more I think, as there were lots of interesting lines and textures.
