Italy's Special Envoy to CSW60 and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino takes part in the event "From Paris to Marrakech: Translating Political Commitments into Effective Gender-Responsive Climate Solutions" organized by the Permanent Mission of Italy together with France, Fiji, Morocco, Peru, Switzerland, OECD-DAC Network on Gender Equality and WEDO.

  

Living Earth Foundation has been working in Iran since 2006, initially working within the framework of the Persian Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project, in which Shell and Repsol were key partners. Since January 2010 however, Living Earth has been working in Iran with the support of the European Commission (EC).

 

Living Earth recognises the importance of promoting cross-sector relationships in the region and is working with key Iranian and international stakeholders to provide a platform for dialogue to ensure that relevant local and regional partners experience positive impacts from industrial projects and are satisfied with the ways that issues are managed.

The Joint Declaration of International Organisations and Financial Institutions highlights their common resolve to “increase cooperation and coordination with the aim to work towards a higher level of efficiency and coherence in all aspects of development of inter-regional transport links; and focus political attention and investments on development of transport and ancillary support infrastructure to help drive trade and international road transport along the routes between Asia, Europe, Black Sea region, the Middle East and Africa; and expand existing technical assistance projects such as the IDB Technical Assistance Grant”.

An initiative to provide household sanitation for 500 low-income families living on the Cabo Verdean island of Santiago, is expected to result in several important spinoffs. Among these are the rejuvenation of a declining agriculture industry and the diversification of local diets − results that have the potential to significantly improve the quality of life of island residents.
