In 2010, Living Earth Foundation launched the pan African Waste to Wealth programme. The project responds to specific challenges faced by poor people living in urban slums in Africa.
The programme encourages all sectors of society to develop collaborative solutions to tackle the challenges of waste management. We support entrepreneurs, micro enterprises, social ventures and community groups to generate an income through waste recycling, and to develop public private partnerships with local government to improve waste collection and waste management in poor slum areas.
Living Earth’s Waste to Wealth programme is funded by the European Union, the UK Government’s Department for International Development and Comic Relief, and is currently active in Cameroon, Nigeria, Uganda and Sierra Leone.

The Smart Move Workshop on Passenger Transport Terminals held in Latvia today, stressed the need for bus and coach operators to be given free access to other transport modes’ terminals in order to provide seamless multi-modal sustainable travel services to customers.
The Oxford Summer and Winter Schools in Ecological Economics organized by Environment Europe have attracted high level participants from Canada, USA, Mexico, St Lucia, Equador, Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Bosnia, Latvia, Ghana, Nigeria, China, India, Taiwan, and Australia.

The purpose of this field trip was to assess the progress of Dhumadhumey community's CDRD sub-project.
Here you can see the Community Project Implementation Unit (CPIU) of Dhumaadhumey community who selected a community centre as their sub-project and this was funded by MFA Finland.
The construction is of the centre is complete and the toilets are almost complete.
The M&E Officer collected proposals, BOQS and First installment and collected the GPS coordinates and photographs of the sub projects.

The event was organized by the Irish Coalition for the Global Campaign for Education and took place in Dublin in April 2015. The theme of the conference was “Sustainable Development Goal 4: Education beyond 2015: what we want and how to get there.”
The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mr. Christy Burke, hosted the event at the Mansion House, the residence and seat of the Lord Mayor. He met briefly ahead of the meetings with Alice Albright and gave her a very warm welcome to Dublin.

Through a Green Fund investment, each Rweru Green Village household receives a pregnant cow. The cow provides milk for the family and the manure will be used to power biogas systems being installed in August 2016.
During Faiza's, the Community Development Officer, trip to Sudan, she gave training to five members of the team in Zalingei, Western Sudan. This included the Project Officer for Local Security Livelihood; Engineer; Project Officer for Small Businesses; Social Services/Education Officer; and the Logistics Officer.
They received training on procurement and finance, in order to be able to administer this training to the beneficiaries themselves so that they are able to effectively run the sub-projects themselves. The CDRD process relies on communities to do the procurement and manage the financial activities.
Faiza delivered the training through a number of different activities - flip-chart exercises, video – 7 modules PICD, card games and interactive exercises, as can be seen in these photos.
On 23 February 2014, HAF held a planning meeting with divorced and widowed women to identify issues of concern and to begin developing plans for a women’s business. With HAF staff, the women identified and discussed potential cooperative projects, including sewing, carpet making, baking, and ranching before voting unanimously that a fish packaging plant holds the most promise for the community. The women, who have for so long struggled to provide for their most basic needs, are devoted to working long hours to making this factory a success.

The UN said that there is a close correlation between the threats to biodiversity and threats to water security. At that point, I weigh up it exists a tiny bond between these two facts.
The absence of inversion in sanitation services has made Lebanon a land with freshwater scarcity. It persists a problem in the capacity of access to clean drink water that comes form the contamination and the over-exploitation.
The Lebanese Government has allowed for ages a large number of water´s malpractices: damaged pipes, wasted water during irrigations, abundance of swimming pools.. Moreover, I have to insist on the old trucks that carry water and that lose this resource each kilometer.
What´s the sense of moving water if you are loosing it?.
