... but I really like this shot. It's just a shroom. Rather large mushroom that seems to grow yr, after yr. on the same time at this time of the yr. It is very unique. One small part of this mushroom.

Have a super day and stay safe. Check in later. 🍄

Sure has been a cold spring 2021!

Incoming waves tracing a line across the beach under a vigorous November sky off the west coast of Wales.

I’m sure I’ve told you before that I get very embarrassed about taking photos int he front garden. However, having taken the dog for a walk this morning I just couldn’t resist, besides Sunday mornings, there’s not too many people up and about.

I had realised last year that I’m a bit shy on the old photography front so had bought more bulbs and planted them in the seclusion of our back garden. They’re coming up, but slightly behind the ones in the front.

Thanks for stopping

Not sure what this verdin was doing to this mesquite tree, but I thought he looked like a rather well-kempt bird.

(update: I just read that verdins do actually eat plant matter in small amounts, including mesquite. Learn something every day 😀)

It's a time for everything.

It's always a time for afterthought, I sure have done that this year.

It's a wonder that I still have one or two brain cells left, lol.

Brain cells aren't used only for work.

Difficult tasks within can blow your mind away.

Why is that?

When you are at work you use your brain in a relatively calm, rational way, it's mostly based on knowledge.

When you are dealing with your inner being you will touch your feelings as soon as you open the door only a tiny bit.

And that hurts.

We normally don't like to be hurt.

Therefore we leave things to be instead of dealing with them, even though you know that you do things in a way you know isn't proper for you or others.

And then you are stuck.

It only gets worse, it never gets fixed without your attention.

Somehow the problem keeps growing and will become like a domino, leaving you with even more tasks to deal with, but the same problem is there like a basis, a foundation, it just transforms into different shapes.

"The story of my life..", you can think, "Why am I always so unlucky?"

Giving it attention is the same as giving the problem light.

Darkness is never a solution.

Light is.

Attention can be done in many ways. When you first are aware of that something is wrong, then you have taken the first step.

We all deal with our stuff in different ways.

The most important is that you actually deal with it.

Some don't need dwelling, back an forth, some know exactly what to do and proceed.

Some needs breaks in thinking, to let it all mature and when the time is right, they do what they need to do.

I'm a slow one, taking into consideration all and everything.

But when I know I'm right, I act like a tsunami. 2018 has been filled with emotional tsunamis, followed by action and intuition.

Tsunami after tsunami.

My tsunamis are like fire in the forest, my foundation gets cleansed, purified and leaving me with a new respect and love for myself and leaving me ready for new adventures.

The unknown is always a nice pillow, we can make many excuses to just be left stuck.

We often don't see that we are doing just that.

Time for heavy food has been and is definitely over for me, for a long time.

Heavy food can make me sleepy and slow in my body and mind.

I can feel the urge of going for a hike instead of eating the dessert.

But I'm not rude, so of course I don't do that, lol.

The company I have had this Christmas was just as perfect as it should be.

Everyone was thankful for the nice time we could have together, everyone in a good mood.

One special person was missing, but this year has indeed been an adventurous year and we all needed to end the year in this way.

I'm thankful for what has been.

I'm thankful for what is.

I'm thankful for what is to come.

Dear diary, thanks for listening to me this year 😁 I will continue in 2019, I promise, lol.

My journey isn't over yet.

And remember, when I'm in 97 I will be jumping in parachute from a plane 😅

Not sure what's their most interesting feature - their little horn, or the knobs at the base of the antennae...

Pretty sure its not an airplane, but I really don't know what this is. The tail looks like a comet, but the red has me confused. All the captures of Comet C/2021 Leonard have green in them not red. I did have an astro filter on the camera. Pointed in the SW sky @ 6:37 PM Pacific time.

Sure, I'll take one! I absolutely fell in love with the mountains that reside in the Dominican Republic. This image shows part of the Anamuya mountain range traveling around 80kph. With such a beautiful name, I decided to go with a little a lime in color, as I thought that it should be a wonderful frozen drink back at the resort. From my "Shoot like a tourist" series. Pentax.

Oh my gosh, little rascal Bun Bun and I were out playing in the hydrangeas today (just look at him hiding behind me!) when we discovered a couple of rabbits. One was white and fluffy and chubby and was taking a nap, and the other one had a beautiful violet purple tinged coat.

We were almost certain he was the Easter Bunny, so we made sure nobody else had seen him, and then tried to keep him hidden in these shrubs ... he blended right in, so I think we're safe! But we were so excited to have encountered him! And what a cutie pie he was too! Real life little girl me would have lived for a moment like this! haha

Happy Easter everyone, I hope your weekend is filled with happy! 💕

I'm sure you're bored by my butterfly shots already. So I decided to upload a different one of a butterfly watching the sunset with me =)

Ich bin sicher, ich langweile euch schon mit meinen Schmetterlingfotos. Also hab ich beschlossen mal ein etwas anderes hochzuladen. Dieser Schmetterling hat mit mir den Sonnenuntergang angeschaut =)

Sure California has the Santa Ana winds, but here in up-upstate New York , we have winds bearing gifts and joy, by old Saint Nick himself, as pictured here. It seems that the farmers truly do believe and that traditions never leave the farm.

PS, I hope that everyone can "see" Santa, or do I need to adjust my meds? "Find Waldo" cloud formations imaged with Pentax Gear.

Not sure what you'll make of this shot, taken in my early days of digital photography.. I had an idea, the setting sun lighting up the path through the Wainstones rocks... quality not brilliant, shooting into the sun made it appear darker that it was.. hey ho, I tried ;-).

The first dandelions always are a sign that Spring is on it's way. I happen to like these yellow flowers, despite the fact that they are termed to be a weed.

not sure the species, I love his wings. Sometimes easy to get photos of them as they often pause on a plant.

The insect Order Odonata includes damselflies (suborder Zygoptera) and dragonflies (suborder Anisoptera). Most of them are medium to large size, body length from 15mm to 120mm. Their bodies are long and slender, usually with bright colours. All of them have two pairs of membranous wings. Their hind wings and forewings are more or less similar size and shape. They have very small antennae but very large compound eyes. They have the small three eyes (ocelli) as well. Their mouths are very good at biting (they don't bite or sting human). Their eyes and mouth occupy almost all their head.

You're beautiful, that's for sure

You'll never ever fade

You're lovely, but it's not for sure

That I won't ever change

And though my love is rare

Though my love is true

[Chorus]

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

All I need for you to know is

Your faith in me brings me to tears (oh)

Even after all these years

And it pains me so much to tell

That you don't know me that well

And though my love is rare

Though my love is true

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

It's not that I wanna say goodbye

It's just that every time you try

To tell me that you love me (oh, oh)

Each and every single day

I know I'm gonna have to eventually

Give you away

And though my love is rare

And though my love is true, yeah

Hey, I'm just scared

That we may fall through

Yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm like a bird (I'm like a bird)

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

(I don't know where my soul is)

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

(I don't know where my home is, oh)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

(I don't know where my soul is)

(I don't know where my home is)

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

And baby, all I need for you to know is

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away

I don't know where my soul is (soul is)

I don't know where my home is

Taken at the very beautiful Zaanse Schans . I've seen so many gorgeous pictures of this place that when The Grove Art Centre photo club went there 'on the run' I had no idea what I was going to do with it.

Evil teddy bear to the rescue!

...I'm sure you can see the family resemblance here.

I couldn't let groundhog season come to a close without posting this shot from earlier this year. This is a mother groundhog with two of her four sweet kits at one of the entrances to their burrow.

I sure did have fun taking all these snow pictures the other day. That snow is no more than a memory now.... and one fist size blob in the driveway where I cleared the car off! It's been spitting tiny little white pellets off and on today that might give us a half inch in .... oh, 25 years or so!

Are you sure they are supposed to act this way?

mosi from scotland. not sure what species it is but its friend bit me twice

I'm not sure if I believe in prayer or a higher power but I have found myself praying just in case.

These days, I am praying for the refugees who were granted asylum by Biden but are now being deported by Trump.

I am praying for the children who don't feel safe at school. Maybe they have never felt safe at school because of school shooters but now they fear their own government more, even if they were born here. They can't concentrate and learn thinking that they might go home to find they no longer have parents.

I am praying for the people who can no longer pray in their place of worship because there are no safe spaces for them anymore, despite existing in a country who claims to value religion with.a leader they see as the second coming of Christ, even though he bears no remote similarities to him.

I am praying for the people who had the very unlucky circumstance of being born in a country under turmoil, not white, not wealthy, and struggling to survive from the moment they breathed. They find themselves in a country who claims to value life but their life is not valued at all. They are seen as the enemies while Proud Boys go free and wreak havoc.

We don't have to live this way.

Not sure how long this leaf has been off the tree but there is not much left of it!

I’m sure most of you know the Norwegian fairy tale about the three billy goats Gruff. Very briefly, there were three billy goat brothers who wanted to cross a bridge to eat the grass on the other side. There was the baby goat, the middle sized goat and the big billy goat. The problem was that there was a troll who lived under the the bridge and wouldn’t let anyone pass. The baby crossed first and the troll said, “Who is tramping across my bridge? I am going to eat you up,” The baby goat said, “wait for my brother to cross. He is much bigger than I.” This was repeated with the middle sized goat. At last big billy goat Gruff went tramping across the bridge and out came the troll and attacked the big goat. Big billy goat Gruff head butted him and tossed him into the river where he sank like lead and was never seen again. The three brothers lived happily in the meadow beyond.

I relate this story because every year on the anniversary of the troll’s death these billy goats re-enact the story. You can see Big Billy Goat Gruff protecting the bridge from the troll. Yes he is lying down on the job, but the troll hasn’t shown up yet (something about the costume not fitting). The white goat plays medium sized billy goat Gruff and the baby is in the foreground. I go to this re-enactment every year. It is really quite well done for an amateur production. HFF

Not sure how I feel about not having the ability to crop as much with the A9. Actually the Barn Swallow wasn't cropped all that much - he really let me get that close!

Hello, I'm not sure if this is actually a mountain wagtail, according to the description it doesn't match the environment where it was photographed!

Hallo, ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es sich tatsächlich um eine Gebirgsstelze handelt, laut Beschreibung passt sie nicht in die Umgebung, in der sie fotografiert wurde!

The Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) or Mountain Wagtail is a species of songbird in the wagtail and peeper family (Motacillidae). The very long-tailed wagtail, gray on top and intensely yellow underneath, inhabits fast-flowing, mostly wooded waters and feeds primarily on insects and their larvae. It often breeds at weirs, bridges or mills. The range extends from the islands of the eastern Atlantic and the Atlas Mountains in North Africa across large parts of Eurasia, where the species is largely absent, however, in northern Europe, the European part of Russia, and large parts of Central Asia. Most mountain wagtails of Atlantic-influenced Europe and subtropical regions are resident birds, with more northerly breeding populations and most Asian birds wintering in subtropical and tropical regions of Europe, Africa, and Asia. The species has spread from the central European low mountain ranges to the northern German lowlands and Poland since about 1850, and from there has also developed new breeding habitats in the Netherlands, northern Europe, and the Baltic States. Populations there declined sharply in the mid-20th century, but appear to have recovered since then. The species is "not endangered" according to IUCN

Sure, I'll pose for you

Not sure which one of us got wetter on this fine, Florida morning, me or this cattle egret. It was my first trip along the Wildlife Drive at Lake Apopka and I thought I would get out of my car and walk one of the many paths in the preserve. As it always seems to turn out, the rain began at my furthest point from the vehicle and I proceeded to get very wet on my way back. I will say I think I dried out much quicker than this fellow's feathers. All in all a great morning!

Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!

not sure what these are called, but I was practising with my 600mm lense out of the hotel window. Ended up cropping the city out of this shot. I love the look. It looks very 1960's thunderbirds

This rather fierce creature was acting as a sort of spiritual guardian , at a pavilion in the Forbidden City , Beijing. With such sharp fangs & claws ,I`m sure he must have scared away any evil spirits .
