I am sure this is something that happens to other people, not just me. You see something and immediately a song pops up in your mind. I was wandering in the streets of Chora in Serifos and as I took a turn and walked in this alley I felt a strong wind gust from behind. The closed windows of the 2 houses started creaking and I instantly remembered the lyrics of this Greek old song where the singer says that he feels like the wind passing through the city's streets making the closed windows creak . It was so quiet and so peaceful on that mid September evening in Chora. Its streets were empty and the sound of the windows didn't bother me at all. I stayed there to enjoy that moment and absorb everything through my eyes and ears. White walls, colorful windows, the sound of creaking and a nice and refreshing breeze. Perfection. Happy Window Wednesday everybody.

And here are the lyrics in English:
As I walk out of your door
I will see the round sun
wearing your beautiful last smile
I will wish you good morning
then I will leave, I will be lost
and maybe you will only see me again in your dreams
Because I am the air that passes
in the city's alleys
and makes the closed windows creak
Because I am an evening aura
I am a breath clean and alive
which makes the tilted window shutters rustle
I am leaving to go high on the mountain
and then I will fall off the cliff
as I sway in the depths and the heights
And in silence I carry
an unruly cry
and some unspeakable hope that you have hidden
Stand up and be a mountain
Power of the dream
The sea, it be in a living thing
River, like a hand
Jump up, and be a cloud again
Raining upon the man

Regent Hotel
At the turn of the twentieth century, this area of Vancouver developed as a shopping area as commercial activity spread outward from its early roots in Gastown. As the young city grew, so did its commercial district. It was the home of several hotels, lodgings, and small retail outlets, which were established to serve the growing blue-collar population.
Built in 1913 for Art Clemes by architect Emil G. Guenther, the building is significant because it is one of two adjacent buildings from the same era with arched windows. Art Clemes was a partner in Alexander Pantages' theatre next door, which explains the similarities in their construction and some of the window design. The Regent Hotel's fine finishes would indicate that it catered to tourists and business travelers, who were expected to arrive after the completion of the Canadian Northern Railway and the Panama Canal. In addition to providing accommodation, the Regent also offered services, including a barber shop, cigar store, and shoe shine stand, all catering to the largely male travelling public.
The Chicago-style grid - including the Louis Sullivan-inspired decorated spandrels - presents a symmetrical face to the street, while the pilasters emphasize the verticality of the structure. The building illustrates the increasing use of technology; buildings of this height were only possible with the use of steel frames, concrete and the development of the elevator.
The Regent Hotel has been renovated by the Downtown Eastside Residents' Association as affordable social housing. It therefore continues the transient nature of accommodation in the Hastings Street area.

Not sure if its the male, but I believe it may be.
Thanks for viewing, faves and comments are always appreciated!
Not sure but think these are probably mountain ash berries. If not the ID would be appreciated.
The mixed color combinations caught my eye.
Snow still falling off an on here with snow covering the ground, but pleased more signs of Spring are showing up daily. Yes!
Nothing like what many in CA and other parts of the country are suffering thru. Keep warm, safe and well.
Rose Red, Rose Red, Rose Red
Snow White, Snow White, Snow White
You used to call me Rose Red
How could I ever forget?
Full of love and passion you said
Now I'm full of hatred and filled with dread
We had a bond that was stronger than they could ever comprehend
And you know that people fear what they don't quite understand
Rose Red, Rose Red, Rose Red
Snow White, Snow White, Snow White
You used to call me Snow White
A snowflake shining bright
Full of serenity and light
Now my heart is suffering from frostbite
We had a bond that was stronger than they could ever comprehend
We are one, we could do anything if you just hold my hand
We had a bond that was stronger than they could ever comprehend
And you know that people fear what they don't quite understand
Rose Red, Rose Red, Rose Red
Snow White, Snow White, Snow White
All the tears that I have shed
When they took you away, Rose Red
I cried myself to sleep each night
Since we were forced apart, Snow White
We had a bond that was stronger than they could ever comprehend
We are one, we could do anything if you just hold my hand
We had a bond that was stronger than they could ever comprehend
And you know that people fear what they don't quite understand
Rose Red, Rose Red, Rose Red
Snow White, Snow White, Snow White

It sure has been one heck of a year but there is always silver to be found in the snowstorm! I'm here on behalf of the big guy himself to tell you just how proud he is of everyone...his nice list is longer than ever.
You banded together in uncertain times, went out of your way to help each other, and encouraged each other when things looked bleak.
Here's to the end of 2020 and looking to a brighter 2021!
Not sure why but I thought I'd take an image of a Himalayan Poppy from behind, but it looked so beautiful just sitting there, like it was watching over my garden.
I shoulda used my new Velvet but I had my reconditioned Nikkor f1.4 on at the time which in itself is a fabulous lens.
Its Bank Holiday here in the UK, the sun is shining, have a wonderful day if you have national holiday or simply a day off in this glorious weather.

Not sure what this bird is, first time I've seen it. It is smaller than a Mockingbird and larger than a Sparrow. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks for confirmation from Sue Milks that this is a Juvenile Summer Tanager, I now know what it is!
and so here I am again, foisting my experiments on unsuspecting flickr'ers
;~)
Edit one

The ruins of Larochette Castle are perched on a sandstone promontory 150 metres above the Valley of the White Ernz, a tributary of the river Sûre in Luxembourg.
I’m not sure what variety of Dahlia this is, but I’m calling it ‘Jazzberry’ based on its vibrant, fuchsia color. Photographed at the Enabling Garden in Altoona, Iowa.

Virginia back roads. Yikes! Not sure about the blending with the picture and framing....but oh well! :-0

Not sure about the ID - it's yellow (and green) - color seems off. Thanks to Georgie and Lou for help in the ID.
I typically don't see these. I managed to get one image before it disappeared. Seen at the Los Angeles County Arboretum.
Not sure where this valley is located. I get hiking in the woods and come to opening in the woods. This is what I saw the last time I went out hiking in the mountains... I love to hike in areas that I have never been to before. I make sure I don't get lost by either using a small hatchet or stacking rocks up in pile. Best way is to take my dog. She is part bloodhound. So that super nose never gets lost...
Not sure if I care for this contre-jour shot, but couldn't resist those crepuscular rays - and that tiny pinhole of sunlight through the clouds was an interesting effect.
This was taken in the company of the fine members of the STS. I don't think I have seen any similar shots from them, so perhaps I wasn't doing the smartest thing in the circumstances. But I have shot this location numerous times and wanted to try something different.
Not sure of the lily variety here but it is sumptuous to be sure...
Often my focus is the multiple stamens that most flowers present, as seen here. And because the style and stigma are sometimes separated from that bunch, most of the time it's out of the image's frame.
But here I have included the style and stigma, seen at the bottom of the image.
Enjoy!
Part of a former brewery in Faversham, Kent, ultimately operated by Whitbread until it closed in 1990. Much of the building is now a Tesco, but I’m not sure if this section on the left is owned by them or is accommodation.

Yeah... sure winter calls for snuggling in knitwear, but who says that needs to mean oversized woolly sweaters? *chuckles*
These are the new Selena boots from Gos, out now at Uber.
Sure, Jagger and Richards formed a rock band, The Game of Thrones, which performed at Buckingham Palace, where Mona Lisa had rented a room, the daily rate was a bargain. Well, her charm soon put the boys under her feet and Mona became the lead singer of the band.
All was fine till Darth Vader decides to enter as lead guitarist. Gosh! His terrible riffs were real squeaky. Once, they were performing at Westminster Abbey, but fast the ghost from Richard the Lionheart put everyone out, he was unable to sleep with that noise.
We suspect it was Rasputin who slipped LSD into afternoon tea.
The result : everybody experienced !!!
Lots of crazy nights with sex, afternoon tea and Rock&Roll.
The Stones.....I mean....The Rolling of Thrones were at the top, Leonardo was designing covers for the rock bands, doing graffiti Art around the royal palaces. And afternoon tea, for sure.
Ooooops ! Were was Mona ? Mona was bored of bad boys and afternoon tea, she went to make a Netflix series with Tom Cruise.
Depressed, Jagger left the band, and converted to Judaism.
And there was the unforgettable and crazy episode with Batman. But I can't remember, because I also had afternoon tea enough.
Well, I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted. Even so, it's normal that at this point, and looking at Mona's photo above, you ask me: who the hell is the child's father ?
Detail from a pretty card my daughter sent me :)

I sure felt like a trail camera here. These three deer came so close on this evening. I was perfectly still and downwind..and we all know how quiet our camera actions can be. It did make me wonder if folks had been feeding them in this preserve, or if I was truly a curiosity. Whatever the cause, it was a cool moment.
I'm sure this young red fox would love a little vole more, but it seemed to enjoy playing this this clump of dandelion seed heads. It would bat them with its paws and bite them, and even chew on them. After while it bit one off and walked towards me with it, only to spit it out onto a patch of dirt.
I like this image because of the eye contact, but also because of all the little dandelion seeds clinging to the fur around its mouth. You can see the seedhead between its legs.
....why I am fasinated with thes sport field lights. They are all silver, really they are. It is the setting sun that is turning some gold. Gotta luv it.
Me: Hey Mama bear! You sure have a beautiful baby!
Mama bear. Thank you Goldilocks. The baby daddy was a big Badass bruin. Very handsome but of course, didn't stick around to help
Me: Well, sorry to hear that. I think that's pretty common in these parts, yeah?
Mama bear: Yeah, true. Wanna bite of salmon? It's really fresh.
Me: No thanks. I like it a little cooked somewhat, but thanks for offering. I'm gonna move on now. Enjoy your meal.
Mama bear: Will do. See your next year?
Me: Not sure. Maybe
