What can you do to Support the Writers Strike?
Well you can join our effort to show the Suits at the AMPTP that the fans are more than numbers on a page. We can show them that we are people who take our enterainment more seriously than they do.
Do you buy DVD's based on the company that produced them or the story or stories they tell?
If you buy DVD's for the stories we need your help.
Since the AMPTP don't seem to understand words very well or else they would have given writers a fair deal in the first place. Maybe they would understand pictures better.
So here is the plan.
Take a photo of yourself, your friends, your family, or heck even your pet with your favorite DVD or DVD's in one shot or multiple shots. Include your location and name (optional) in the shot.
Then send the photo to photos4signs@fans4writers.com.
What are we going to do with them, well we are going to create a picture book from them and send it to Each of the Big Six AMPTP corporations, as well as Nick Counter to let them know we are watching. If we get enough photos we may even do a big postcard campaign with the photos.
However, what we need now are your photos. Spread the word far and wide among as many fandoms as you belong too.
Maybe we cannot do a million fan march but we can do a photo barrage that will make it feel like it.
BTW - You can be as creative as you want but try to keep the photos clean.
If you don't have DVD's or you want to do more .... then also take photos in front of your TV (preferablely in front of snow screen or off) holding a sign representing your TV viewage and your support of the writers.

Cafe au Chocolat
Cafe au Chocolat began welcoming customers through its doors in Irongmonger Street in Stamford on Wednesday 30 July 2014.
SKDC's business support scheme helped new business owner Krystyna Szypryt with marketing and staffing advice and also looked at methods of recruitment.
The former Blockbuster video rental shop has been transformed and they hope the high standard of products will add something new to Stamford's long list of coffee shops.
The cafe offers its own blends of coffee as well as handmade crêpes and a wide range of specially-selected dark and milk chocolates you will not find in the supermarket.
Owner, Mrs Szypryt said: "I took voluntary redundancy from my previous job, as owning a coffee shop is something I've wanted to do since I was a teenager."

With participation from high level representation from the GCC states and Yemen FAO organized an event to highlight Blue Transformation and the development of climate change agenda in line with the preparation of 2023 UNFCC’sCOP 28 in the United Arab Emirates. Line: the cracks on the tree act to draw the attention of the viewer towards the tree and emphasising the tree as being weak, so it looks like it needs the wires support more.
Texture: the bark appears cracked, broken and torn giving it the appearance of being old and weak.
Principles:
Unity: the photo has other trees in the background but they are far enough away that it seems as though the tree is standing by itself, so it needs the support of the wire.
Depth of field: The background of the photo is blurred and out of focus making the primary tree stand out more so it seem more by itself.
Contrast: The tree has dark spots that draw the attention of the viewer away from the background of the photo.
Lighting:
The lighting comes in from the side so that it emphasizes the texture and lines on the trees bark, the shadows created by the lighting increase the contrast of the photo
Post Production:
Contrast: the contrast increased the emphasis on the tree and made the shadows and lines stand out more
Saturation: the saturation emphasizes some colour in the tree making it appear more defined
Critique:
Strengths:
-the lighting helps to emphasize the trees texture really well.
-the photos depth of field was executed well to make the tree stand out more in the frame
Area that needs improvement:
-the wire could have followed the rule of thirds a bit better.

Governor Charlie Baker’s speech to LGBT executives and activists at the 10th Annual Boston Spirit LGBT Executive Networking Night, hosted by Boston Spirit magazine was met with a chorus of boos after he refused to voice support for a bill to prevent bias against transgender people in public spaces. His reluctance to take a stand on the bill was met with chants of “sign the bill” before he abruptly walked off stage about twenty minutes into his remarks. The event’s organizers had said Baker would mingle with the crowd after his speech, but he left without meeting with the attendees. Many people expressed disappointment in the Governor Baker’s unwillingness to support the public accommodations bill which would prohibit bias against transgender people in restaurants, shopping malls, and other public areas.

Burma’s evolution away from five decades of military rule has offered the United States its most significant opportunity in years to engage with the country’s people and government in the pursuit of democracy, development, peace, and human rights. In countries undergoing political transitions, U.S. policy coordination, decision-making and traditional development tools often struggle to keep pace with the challenges. On May 9, experts and U.S. officials discussed lessons learned recently in Burma, also known as Myanmar—and of ways they may be applicable to the U.S. role in similar environments.

New York Runners in Support of Staten Island
About: Group of New York area runners who are running and delivering aid on Sunday morning in Staten Island. #SupportStatenIsland
Mission: I am a sports medicine doctor and avid runner and triathlete. Saddened by the events of hurricane Sandy, I decided to help form a group of likeminded runners who are interested in helping others in need.The idea is to run in Staten Island and use our legs to help distribute food and products to those who need help the most.

Now that the NYC marathon is cancelled, let’s put these legs and healthy spirit to good use! We are organizing an impromptu group of NYC marathon runners (and friends) to head over to Staten Island to run and distribute food and helpful items. All levels welcome!

These PTP-200 type C constants measure 23" x 64". are designed for an operating capacity of 14,400 lbs and a travel range of 4". The constants are made of A36 carbon steel and weigh 1,770 lbs each. They have been modified to accommodate a specialized spring coil and each modified casing. Standard load and travel testing were performed prior to shipping to ensure quality.
Area Support Group Afghanistan (ASG-A) personnel were among more than 500 participants in the annual Army Ten-Miler shadow run at Bagram Airfield Oct. 4. Shadow runs are held at various locations throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area Afghanistan and in locations throughout the globe. The race is held annually in Washington, D.C., in October. Beginning as a way to promote the Army, build esprit de corps, support physical fitness, the Army Ten-Miler began with nearly 14,000 participants in 1985 and has capped at 35,000 in recent years. It is the second largest ten-mile race in the United States and the third largest ten-mile race in the world. The race generally sells out in less than 12 hours. More than a quarter million people have participated since its inception.
