New York Runners in Support of Staten Island
About: Group of New York area runners who are running and delivering aid on Sunday morning in Staten Island. #SupportStatenIsland
Mission: I am a sports medicine doctor and avid runner and triathlete. Saddened by the events of hurricane Sandy, I decided to help form a group of likeminded runners who are interested in helping others in need.The idea is to run in Staten Island and use our legs to help distribute food and products to those who need help the most.

Now that the NYC marathon is cancelled, let’s put these legs and healthy spirit to good use! We are organizing an impromptu group of NYC marathon runners (and friends) to head over to Staten Island to run and distribute food and helpful items. All levels welcome!

These PTP-200 type C constants measure 23" x 64". are designed for an operating capacity of 14,400 lbs and a travel range of 4". The constants are made of A36 carbon steel and weigh 1,770 lbs each. They have been modified to accommodate a specialized spring coil and each modified casing. Standard load and travel testing were performed prior to shipping to ensure quality.
Fünfzehn Aktivisten haben sich heute von Berlin Lichtenberg aus auf den Weg zunächst an den Grenzübergang Spielfeld zwischen Österreich und Slowenien gemacht, um mit ihrer "Refugees Support Tour" benötigte Waren wie Zelte, Lebensmittel und sanitären Bedarf zu den wartenden Geflüchteten zu bringen. Neben den fünf Autos voll mit Hilfsgütern wollen sie auch praktisch die Hilfsinfrastruktur vor Ort unterstützen.
Nach Auskunft der Aktivisten auf ihrer Website, wurde seit zwei Wochen mobilisiert und dabei bereits 1.500€ an Spenden gesammelt, zudem hätten sich über 80 Personen gemeldet, die Spenden abgeben oder an der Tour teilnehmen wollten.
Alaska Guardsmen Spc. Tahdg Nakada, a signal support specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, and Pfc. Travis Cooper, a construction equipment mechanic with the 207th Engineer Utility Detachment, train at approximately 4,500 feet elevation in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, in Canmore, Alberta, Nov. 21-Dec. 2, 2016. The Guardsmen put in 15 to 20 hours per week of cardio including skate and classic skiing and running. Additionally, they incorporated strength training and shooting into their training regimen. Nakada, 22, of Anchorage, and Cooper, 20, of Kenai, train year-round and compete on the National Guard Biathlon development team. Biathlon is a winter sport that combines skiing and precision marksmanship in both the prone and standing positions. Wonder Bread is no longer available in Southern California which is too bad because it was my crack. Thankfully, an angel in a far away state sent me some!
