STARS provides support to MFIs to refine and upscale their agri-loan products and lending methodologies to satisfy the financial needs of smallholder farmers. Through the support of STARS, malt barley input loan and vegetable loan products were successfully refined and rolled-out in many branches of the MFI partners including Metemamen MFI in Meki pictured here.
More than half of the population on the African continent works in agriculture. Despite its large economic share, the sector has failed to harness its full potential, due to a lack of modern tools, inability to maximize productivity and difficult access to financial markets. The Strengthening African Rural Smallholders (STARS) programme has improved the professional conditions for thousands of smallholder farmers and has given them a fair chance.
Access to finance for Ethiopian farmers
STARS is a partnership programme between Cordaid and the Mastercard Foundation. The five-year programme (2017-2021) develops market systems to improve access to finance and markets for over 200,000 farmers in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Senegal. In Ethiopia, STARS has improved access to finance and markets for 66,000 farmers, impacting a total of 330,000 household members.

Families of deployed Colorado National Guard members were hosted at the Governor's Mansion Mar. 20, 2013. The children played a variety of games, enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, and were read to by Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edward, the Adjutant General of Colorado, as well as Mrs. Edwards and the Easter Bunny. WAIKIKI, Hawaii - 9th Mission Support Command Warriors past and present joined wounded warriors, veterans and families to compete and partake in the Malama Na Koa Wounded Warrior Regatta Aug. 18, 2018. Launched in 2009, Malama Na Koa organized the regatta to assist recovering troops through the ‘healing power’ of the Hawaiian waters. The first event took place at the Pearl Harbor Marina with 67 teams from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and other organizations. The Hawaii Chapter of the Association of the United States Army has hosted the event since 2014. The Na Koa Wounded Warrior Canoe Regatta has since expanded to include Gold Star families in the Wounded Warrior & Family Division, a Youth Honor Heat, two VIP Exhibition Heats, and a Gold Star Medallion Presentation. The event has grown to include nearly 500 paddlers, 175 volunteers, and roughly 300-400 spectators.

A support crib under one of the rear corners of the house. The plywood kept dirt from falling into the cribbing durring the excavation. Shoring the house was especially complicated by the fact that the floor joists run front-back in some areas and side-side in others.

The bill that Rep. Thompson introduced with Attorney General Kamala Harris’s support gives states an incentive to develop successful programs that will get guns out of the hands of criminals and the dangerously mentally ill. This bill was inspired by California’s Armed Prohibited Persons System which passed by a bipartisan vote in the State Legislature with the support of the California NRA and California GOP Chairman Jim Brulte. It deserves a vote in U.S House of Representatives.
The All Steel Space Generator Slab Support Panel System saves the need for shoring or re-shoring of slab formwork. This is possible because the high strength spanning ability of the panel means that all the loads that it carries are transferred to the walls, by Adjustable Support Brackets, under the slab thus passing all the horizontal loads down into the columns that take the load in compression. The panel is moved from one floor to another with a crane handled caddy. This system was particularly popular with hotel builders because of it's durability and value as an investment. Some of these panels were owned by the hotel owners and looked after by Efco until they were issued again to the constructors of the hotels.

The Boss Lift program provides opportunities for employers to learn the benefits and challenges involved with employing National Guard and reserve members. The ESGR's Boss Lift highlights the value and skills military personnel bring to their civilian jobs and expresses gratitude to employers for their continued support of the military and National Guard and reserve members in the work force.
