A warm sunrise in the forest

The scenic woods of the Ashridge estate on a beautiful spring evening.

Back in South Wales after a great visit to Snowdonia. We'll be off to the far North west of Scotland on Friday. Meantime it's a forecast of blue skies and cold weather, so beach detail is on the cards for this week. This is a typical sand detail shot, and this one really caught my mind, so Insensatez by Robert Wyatt is as good a title as any.

This is the exterior slopped ceiling of the “Cardboard Cathedral” photographed from the outside looking west and the setting sun naturally illuminates the structure.

The facility is made from shipping containers, cardboard tubes, timber stained glass and steel. The roof (pictured here) is made of polycarbonate. This is a temporary structure while the original cathedral is repaired following the 2011 earthquake.

Across the road from our house.

Thank you all for your visit comments and faves much appreciated!

Have a lovely Sunday!

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to view & comment on my work. Dean

Sunlight Canyon runs down into the Clarks Fork Canyon (“The Box”) as seen from this view atop the Sunlight Bridge on the Chief Joseph Highway in the Soshone National Forest, Wyoming. The canyon cuts through gray, Precambrian granites, gneisses, and schists that formed when older sedimentary and volcanic rocks were heated and recrystallized deep in the Earth at extremely high temperatures during the development of what became a microcontinent. These basement rocks form part of an ancient continental land mass of Archean age called the Wyoming craton. This microcontinent was assembled through the collision and accretion of smaller plates and terranes driven by plate tectonics during the middle Archean (3.2-2.65 billion years). The Wyoming craton remained an independent microcontinent for over 750 million years and is some the oldest continental crust in the Rocky Mountains.

Sunlight shining onto a fern frond

In the kitchen this afternoon, what a treat to see beautiful sunshine brightening up the house...

Really enjoying Kim Klassen's photoshop course !

Ceiling reflection in the second floor, due to the sun reflecting off my car's brake light. I've never seen this before and it didn't last long.

A cylinder hangs on the end of a length of twine and is illuminated by a beautiful shaft of sunlight. Bokeh is visible in the background.

Still trying out the macro possibilities of this really old digital camera - it dates from 2001! I'm still surprised about the possible quality of the images despite the small file size.

These are two of my small collection of small bottles - the green one is about 4cm in height. The low sunlight produces some beautifully long shadows - that is when there is some. This morning I was just lucky!

Filtered Sunlight in my backyard.

The forest meets the sunshine.

Photograped near Sloboda village, Begoml district, Belarus.

Sunlight breaking through the forest canopy, with the first fall of leaves.

Liked the morning filtered light coming through the clouds onto the trees and bushes along Lake Conway in Arkansas.
