Bryan and I flew to NYC the morning after the terrorism suspects were captured in London. We had no idea anything was up until they started confiscating everything in my bag. The security guys were in for one crappy day.
I often see Asian tourists in this kind of outfit in the US as well, and it perplexes me.
Not only does she have an umbrella to shade her, but she has a hat, long sleeves, and long pants on, with a hoodie at the ready, perhaps in case the umbrella fails. She may also be wearing sunblock. In the bag, I assume there is hand sanitizer and antiseptic wipes. That's no disposable drugstore mask, either.
And the posture...it's not because it was cold that day, because it was quite warm, and no sign of rain.
But here she is, half a world away from home, in a foreign country....
