JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Soldiers assigned to 6th Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Airborne) move an Ahkio sled during Arctic Light Individual Training (ALIT) on Bulldog Trail, Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in sub-zero conditions. ALIT is the United States Army Alaska’s Cold Weather Indoctrination (CWI) program; gives all Soldiers, regardless of their job, the foundation to successfully work, train, and go to war in some of the harshest environments in the world. Second Life holiday parties was an incredible mix of trance, dnb, electronica, dark psy, goa, minimal, proggy, acid, experimental, industrial, noize, tribal, jazz, live music, country, blues, reggae, salsa, classical, opera, and Christmas music. I heard it all and then some.
I love music of all kinds. If it's good, it's worth listening to, so don't start with the nose-up-in-the-air over your favorite genre. Believe me... good music will always find an audience. An audience of sophisticated listeners will stop to listen to any good sound... even if it isn't part of your normal repertoire.
What is amazing is that dj's and musicians around the world know this, and they borrow from all genres to create their own personal sounds.
Here in Second Life, we get the results from around the world. World music mixes with the trendy sounds of the day, and we get the sounds that we love so much.
I want to thank all the dj's, musicians, club owners and event makers in SL. You guys made a holiday scene like no other. APPLAUSE & BRAVO ::::
Special thanks to you <3:

2009... here we goooooo!
Winter continues to assault us with its extremes. Subzero windchill when we went to the polls tonight. Just a lightly attended primary to determine the candidates in the spring election. It was tempting to delegate the selection of candidates to other voters, but that would be wrong -- so we bundled up and made our way to Wingra School in Madison. The nice thing about voting in a school library is that there's always something interesting to look at while you wait in line (a very short line tonight).
Window over the sink balances window in last photo. Note microwave drawer located close to refrigerator for convenience.
Ice and SubZero (Prototype Sno-Buggy)
Name Ice Storm or Ice. A teen villain Captain Cold wannabe. Super gadgets and hi-tech toys he wants he takes, specially Mr. Freeze’s SubZero. Using stolen S.C.F. (Sub-Cold Fission) in his ice container cannon, it makes a powerful weapon vehicle to put the city on ice. [A removable cannon can be use as an ice gun.]
The Cuusoo Project - lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/50958
This 100 year old Brooklyn, NY townhouse is neither sterile, staid or monochromatic. The materials give the impression of being collected over a period of time. Notice the custom stainless steel sink, the dual level Vermont slate island top for the young twin boys and the variety of glass doors. Stylistically, the cabinets are like members of a family - each with an individual personality. When you go from point 'A' to point 'B' why see the same thing? Varied depths fit into the architecture as the classic subway tile unites the kinetic forms.

The icy signature of record-breaking freezing temperatures last night. For this largely tropical region, it is a Big Deal.
