A flight of stairs takes the visitor of the hypocenter park in Nagasaki down to the original ground level at the time of the explosion. The dirt and rumble left behind by the blast raised the ground level by several meters. The remains of destroyed houses, and several materials that boiled at the intense heat of the blast can be seen here behind a protective glass panel.

A nasty windchill limited me to a short, frantic shooting session, but any opportunity to search for a composition without dark, cloudy skies is a pure pleasure no matter how fleeting.
