75014 approaches Summerseat with the 10:00 from Bury on the 30th December 2000. This was a day of sub-zero temperatures and hoar frost that lasted all day. One couldn't resist photting in such conditions, even if it was risking frostbite, especially here, where we waited ages for the train to turn up, as it was running very late, presumably due to the weather conditions. I'm glad I had the wit to take both colour slide and monochrome print film images though.

This was one of the coolest (sorry, forgive the pun) cosplays I saw at Katsucon. Someone mashed up Elsa from Disney's Frozen with Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat.

I kind of gushed on how amazing I thought this cosplayer's idea and execution of her mashup idea went off. She had printed out flexible black snowflakes to wear under her tights which I thought was a great touch.

I used the Elemental Action on her "snowball" and replaced the background with a custom image created in Chaotica Lite.

I honestly have no idea who this cosplayer was/is but damned if I don't want to take more pics of her work down the road.

The snow is beautiful, don't you think? Clean, uncompromising...

And Cold.

Like the swift hand of vengeance.

I saw what happened to your wife…I’m sorry.

I'm beyond emotions. They've been frozen dead in me.

That suit you wear, a result of the coolant?

Very good, a detective to the last. I can no longer survive outside a sub-zero environment.

Tonight, I mean to pay back the man who ruined my life... our lives.

Even if you have to kill everyone in the building to do it?

Think of it, Batman. To never again walk on a summer's day with the hot wind in your face and a warm hand to hold. Oh yes, I'd kill for that!

Sub Zero temperatures made for some frosty windows!

With sub-zero overnight temperatures we thought it advisable to give 3238 a run out around Kent. The vehicle is seen here on its old stamping ground at Water Meadow Close, Hempstead, 22/11/15

Had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful sunrise on Sunday with fellow Flickr member, rj-bj. The sub-zero (f.) temps made for a very misty and steamy Lake Michigan. The waves were really pounding in. The waves had completely "remodeled" the shelf ice along the shoreline. In one spot the ice had been washed out almost all the way up to the foot of the bluff. This shot was processed as a low-effect 3-shot HDR. Thanks for looking.

Standing in the middle of a river when the temperature was -6, swinging a cage full of burning wire wool around my head, with the camera on a tripod in the river about 100m away. It was a glorious way to spend the evening

Markus

sub zero temperature!!! Feet and fingers numb...

Near Cucumber Falls, Ohiopyle State Park

The setting sun casts a warm glow across Great Rocks Dale despite the sub-zero temperature as DB Schenker Class 66/0 No. 66126 on the left hauling 6M96 from Drax Power Station arrives at Tunstead Sidings and heads towards the south end of the quarry. On the right, Freightliner Class 66/6 No. 66621 waits for a clear road to depart with 6H41, loaded limestone hoppers bound for Bredbury Tilcon. 20th January 2014.

The icy signature of record-breaking freezing temperatures last night. For this largely tropical region, it is a Big Deal.

Sub-zero weather kept us indoors today (and tomorrow) so what do you do to creatively pass the time? Assemble a Lego! And I had a little helper. Please welcome "Lucas the Spider" to my family. He's my 'mascot' helping assemble the Lego Brick Bank. We are almost finished with the first set of bags (bags labeled '1') and will move onto the rest of the bags tomorrow.

Ok this guy I kinda made before the contest and sub zero isn't a hero so he does count the only thing I modified that could still make him persuit is that I used Jay's kimono and erased the symbol on the back but kept the buckles on the back for detail. I used the sky bound mask since it was blue and black and the face is from the Lone Ranger and the hair is Kanan's hair. Not very sold on the face but it'll do for the contest. (P.S. congrats Liam on the 400 followers you deserve it)

In sub-zero conditions on the Zittauer Schmalspurbahn on 3rd January 2000, 750mm gauge Saxon-Meyer No.99 584 is captured working through the woodland soon after leaving Bertsdorf, heading a Zittau to Kurort Oybin afternoon service. This locomotive was for a number of years a static exhibit at the Rügen Railway and Technology Museum (Eisenbahn and Technik Museum Rügen or ETM), but has since been restored to working order and some twenty years after this can now be seen in action on the Döllnitzbahn, working between Oschatz and Mügeln.

Nothing like taking your pooch to the dog park when wind chills are -30F

Sub zero temperatures over the past few days have frozen over the local ponds.

Same Sonya Blade from last year but with some new companions, Sub-Zero (I think he was Scorpion last year) and X-23 (they just met her at the con and decided to all pose together). I actually had a lot of fun masking out the cosplayers in this pic - to lighten them up and better define them from the black background.

UPDATE: This group was the lead-in photo for Uproxx's Funny, Sexy, And Awesome Cosplay Of The Week (03.06.14). Whoa, that's two slideshows where my photo was the first one in the group. Nice!!!

Porsche 911 Carrera 4s (997), Another day same place as Panamera , but this time more snow and better car !

Like Car Spotters from Serbia on Facebook

Sub-zero night out with the bergamot-scented LED Eddie, two flasks of tea and a penguin (mask, not chocolate biscuit).

Lighting done in two frames then stacked for startrails. Fill from the moon high right and some stray beams from Eddie's X21.

As we were driving away from the site a police patrol passed us the other way. I noticed in my mirror that it turned round then watched the winding road behind me as first the illumination grew brighter then the lights themselves grew larger as the police car caught up with our two-car convoy.

At that moment it was time for me and the man to go our separate ways, Eddie northbound and me back towards the coast. Decision time for the patrol car. With one headlight out on my car, I'm surprised they followed Eddie but that's the way it goes sometimes. I'll let his words (found on his pic from the night) take over the story from here:

"we went our separate ways and was subsequently pulled some 20 mins later. Apparently I had aroused their interest as I had looked suspicious whilst "travelling in a late night convoy with a hatchback car sporting a single headlight".

"We're on a joint exercise with BT on the look out for cable thieves". I presumed he meant electrical cable and not camera cable releases !

"You and the hatchback looked suspicious so we have pulled you both"

" Got any ID ?"

" Only a gun licence "

" Are there guns in the vehicle ? "

" No and those two pheasants in the foot well aren't poached either, they are from the weekend".

I could sense this going down hill rather rapidly.

A search of the Shogun satisfied them that my night photography story was bona fide and luckily they didn't search my rucsac as the gasmask and some of the props may have proved a bit problematical."

Me again. My tug never came - I guess the man talks a good talk even if his only ID is a gun license. I love that!

Anyhow, top marks to Surrey Police for tackling the problem. Even though I wasn't stopped, I'd still much sooner the slight inconvenience of accounting for my actions than have them do nothing. You never know when you'll need to phone the emergency services and can't get through 'cos some lowlife's nicked the cable.

The warm water of a nearby lake adds some ground fog to the equation.

After a bright start it clouded over and things got a bit sub zero for a while. That's snow on the hill in the distance, top right.
