This is "Mousey", I've had her since I was a little kid. Her ears are ripped and her nose is missing, but she still gets a place of honor on my bed.

ODC - 6/27/2015 - Family Treasure

Each of these monkeys represent a grandchild. I bought the two matching ones for the twins and added a monkey for each child.

All of my stuffed animals. I had to temporarily relocate them while painting my room.

She had a hard day yesterday celebrating Christmas with family and puppy friends. She's going to have to take a couple days to sleep it off. ;-)

I was leaving for work this morning when I caught sight of the carnage unleashed sometime in the night.

T is the cutest little lady (takes after her parents). I got her a stuffed frog, and she was carrying it around going "Hoppy hoppy hoppy." She sounded exactly like Boo from Monsters Inc (because Boo was actually voiced by a toddler).

Toys awaiting the baby, given to us as christmas presents by my mother. Also a breastfeeding pillow donated by the wife of a coworker from whom I was buying a used crib.

The Seed won't be able to play with them for a while yet, but we may end up leaning them against the baby occasionally just for our own edification. :)

Ava doesn't nap a whole lot anymore, but she's fallen asleep during her naptime a few times this month. I got about two pictures snapped before she opened her eyes on this particular day.

These are the stuffed animals I have left from when I was a kid.

The dog is named Hot Dog. Mom got him from a rummage sale for me when I was 3.

The doll is Amanda Doll. When my mom had me, and told our family that she'd named me Amanda, my grandma found a pattern for a doll called Amanda Doll, and made it for me. She has to be in a nylon sock because I chewed on her feet until I was 5, and her face is kind of nonexistant.

Comfort

PCA98

1 week: February 28 - March 7, 2010

Comfort can mean many things to many people. It could be a person, a place, a thing, an interaction, an event--anything! Your challenge, should you choose to accept it :) , is to create a photograph that expresses your view of comfort. The only limitation is your imagination! Looking forward to seeing everyone's views. Hope you have fun with this!

WIT: I struggled with this assignment way more than I expected. I turned to my kids and asked what gave them comfort. My youngest spoke up first and answered "my stuffed animals." Their parents came in a distant third after some prompting. This is about as neat as the menagerie gets and it features all her well loved favorites. I cropped the image and added an orton effect action in PSE. This is my debut image using an external flash and have the entire learning curve ahead of me.

At times the state of the city, the bleak prospects and the steady drum beat of bad news just weigh you down. That the cackling hens from the sunny side of the nation seem intent on piling on their abuse doesn't make it any easier. One day the sun will shine on us again. That much I know.

Evidence that I sometimes make my bed.

I love how the cards aren't just randomly thrown around. Brina took real care in setting up a valid Bang situation!

I've always loved animals. It's no wonder I ended up with a suburban farm. This was my collection of stuffed animals... some of them. I had more smaller ones but Tricia and I made paper boats with glue and tried to float stuffed animals down the canal. The boats sank. The stuffed animals did not survive.

I can tell this is about 1981 because i had a home perm in 4th grade that broke off my hair and I had to wear it pulled back on top in a barrette for months after that until it grew back in. I also had some OCD then and pulled my hair out for a while after that.

Day 296

My daughter's stuffed puppy, Ollie (yes, she calls it the same thing that our live boxer is called!), needed major neck surgery today. Just call me Dr. Tam, world-renown stuffed animal veterinarian. :D

Brina set up some stuffed animals on my bed, playing the card game "Bang!"

I love living with her!

Dodo is not known for being very bright, or understanding the order of steps in which tea is made and then ingested.

Eva made me an awesome stuffed chinook salmon for my birthday. It is green and silver, as salmon are when they're fresh out of the ocean (they get more colorful as they stay in fresh water). It's about three feet long. We saw salmon like this at the Issequah Salmon Days festival. They were jumping.

O insisted that his monkey (his favorite stuffed animal) be dressed in these clothes. Furthermore the socks and hat were removed at naptime, and the diaper had to be put back on at bedtime. No more monkey poo in the bed.
