it's a terrible photo. someday I'll take a better one... but even though you can barely see them, he has little wire whiskers.
I brought Snuff home today and introduced him one at a time to each member of the gang.
Snuff was a little scared to leave his castle in the woods, but I assured him that he was safe with me, and he rode on my back the whole way home. When we got home, not only was he surprised that there were so many animals, he was surprised at how big they were! He had never seen anything larger than spiders, and the occasional sparrow or mouse.
Despite his initial shock, he soon grew very friendly and he is getting to know us more and more as time goes by.
My friends were all thoroughly delighted to meet him, and it has been decided that he will be officially part of the gang.

I had plans and then backup plans and then backup backup plans for this weekend, and they all ended up canceling on me, so instead I drove to Jonesboro, Arkansas. This shot was taken along the way in Fredericktown, MO. It was very weird and uncomfortable being in Trump Country.
The best thing I saw along the trip was that there exists a place called Goobertown, Arkansas, which seems more like the name of a town you'd set a crappy but long-running newspaper comic from the 40s in where all of the punchlines make your grandmother smile and she forwards them to you and you say "lol" but you didn't even really do that thing where you exhale air out of your nose a little bit forcefully because the joke was just that ol' Greasy Tintfield was sleeping in the back room instead of cooking fried eggs like he should have been, because that's always the punchline, because the creator of the comic has been dead since 1987 but somehow the comic keeps running and no one's really sure who's drawing it anymore, but the pages still keep showing up at the syndication office and the checks keep getting cashed and your grandmother keeps writing in to say how much she loves the antics of Greasy Tintfield of Goobertown, Arkansas, so that gear of the great machine of life keeps on turning.
All ready for the new arrival. Except for the second coat of paint in the nureser, th crib, the glider, the changing table, the stroller, the car seat… but we have the stuffed animals taken care of.
Even when I do the laundry, I smile.
I have this cute little guy, hanging upside down above my washing machine... to make me stop, smile, and then get back to doing yet another load of laundry.

The beloved stuffed animal of my childhood.
(He still sleeps on the pillow next to me at night.) :)
Helena has a thing about stuffed animals. This one is almost as big as she is and so incredibly soft!
I have many stuffed animals. When I was younger, I loved stuffed animals like no other [except for maybe hard animals].
I thought I'd let them all out for a nostalgic photoshoot.
After I'd taken the pic and declared I liked it, my sister started giggling and pointed out the upper right corner. Yes, my sister held out my Kit [see Day 6] to be in the photo. Of course that only made it better. :D
This was out by the dumpster behind my apartment. Seems sad to through it away and if I had someway to clean it, I would have taken it in and saved it from the landfill.
What the well-dressed toddler was wearing in December 1966. I was 17 months old and I'm told I absolutely adored this stuffed tiger.
chilling between adams morgan and the flophouse. this is the second stuffed animal i saw yesterday; the other was a smaller stuffed female lion chilling near salon loule (near lauriol plaza) where i got my hair cut. is this some sort of odd art?
While waiting for a table at Carrows, Benson spotted a claw machine
with a stuffed dog that seemed easy to get.
It took him two tries, but he actually got it. I don't know if I have
ever seen someone actually win at one of these.
Curious George's stoned cousin
Composite of 3 exposures, two at f/4 with focus on the eyes and nose, blended into an f/1.2 exposure for everything else. Three artificial lights plus the setting sun behind.
This is Mousey. I know, the name is so original, but what else would you expect from an 8 year old. She's missing her nose and has some rips & tears, but she'll always be a reminder of my childhood.

We had a party yesterday. A number of our friends attended. Some hung out by the pool, some by the table, some outdoors, some indoors.
The girls got cute little stuffed animals from their grandparents. Each animal makes the appropriate noise.
