I don't do a lot of typical studio photography and usually white seamless backgrounds are considered as the enemy. So I hesitated to take on this job for fashion designer Griet Verhoeven (www.enolah.be). Having the opportunity to work with my favorite model Erika, made me do it. And I'm glad I did it. It was a valuable lesson about being open to other kinds of photography. Much to my own surprise I enjoyed this shoot a lot. The soft light and white seamless makes you focus on posing much more, because that's the only tool left to tell your story. The extremely professional attitude and fun collaboration with the model, the designer, her assistant/stylist and the photographer was also very enjoyable.

Another #tbt polaroid look at my (then new) desert studio. I was in the process of building out the mix room. Those racks on the left represented 1/3 of the gear back then. There were two more stacks behind me :) #oldschool

My thanks to our stunning model & fellow members for their help!
Crowds outside ABC's television studio in Times Square. If I recall correctly, someone got the chance to win a car - the man in the screen at the top was the winner!

Shooting in a studio is definitely not my natural environment, but working with a beauty like Jade makes it a whole lot easier!!
Tagged along to a studio photography night that Allan England was attending at Xtraordinary Photography Studio. I liked the look of a few photos Allan had uploaded recently (as always!) and as I have never been in a studio and always kept away from shooting people, I thought I'd give it a blast and learn something new!
Was totally out of my comfort zone and not used to using shutter speeds faster than 2 seconds! Chris Ord who ran the session made it nice and easy to slip into it, as did the models too. Having never been around lighting before, Chris and Siobhan (the model pictured) explained how the different lighting works and showed me the different affects you could achieve from changing shooting angles.
Very enjoyable session. Something I definatly want to get more into in the future! Although a bit nerve racking your first time!

Messy studio, with paints both expensive and cheap, a glass of IPA, and lots of photo albums for inspiration.
