YVAN le TRAPPER...
Here, he gave a whole impression of a Russian trapper, looking for his pray or was it his way?
He had us rolling with laughter, he is just so witty, the accent spot on, some Flemish words 'Russianised'...
The lighting again was an interesting challenge, because of the hand, ah well I'm sure you'll let me know if I've pulled it off!
YVAN le TERRIBLE...
It was getting late, almost the end of the shoot and the hoot.
I've always said it: 'Ç’est dure la vie de modèle'
Ivan had, like most people, underestimated the strain of being at your best in front of a camera for a couple of hours.
We had a short break and then a few more shots...
YVAN THE OFFICIAL PORTRAIT
Yvan and his lovely partner.
There is a time to be serious too!
I would not have been happy if I had not taken a 'proper' portrait of these two beautiful people.
I know how shy she is, was adamant about not being photographed, but aaaahhh well... with my usual 'charm' (tee hee)... I finally was able to convince her to join him in front of the camera, that pleased him.
He is an extremely romantic man, the ladies like him and he's always charming to the ladies, but this is his true love, they are a wonderful couple.
HAPPINESS IS...
Sharing laughter.
I suspect that she whispered something naughty back to him, for his ears only...
AAhh, still so in love after all these years.
This is one of a series (more later).
From the series: Ex-and impressions.
The REAL Yvan like I know him best.
This is the last image I took that day, the last in the series...Anthropologically this has been a great exercise too, we learn more on this site than just about photography?
From the series: Ex-and impressions.
Hope you are enjoying this?
Taken on my Nikon F4, negs scanned and retouched lovingly!
THANK YOU, M, (*_*)

This is for an intensive studio class where we emulate advertisements and editorial images over the course of one day. We are given about a week to prepare -- find models, props, and plan. This is the shoot that I directed.

2011 was quite a year for me as a photographer. I embarked on my 365, but I also purchased a building to house a photography studio. It was a derelict structure on the wrong side of the tracks, but the timing was right. Within a month of my closing on the building, other vacant buildings surrounding me sold. Along with other entrepreneurs, I began my renovation.
As my vision of a place to work and play came to fruition, I documented the progress in my 365 project. It's still not finished by any means, but it is a working studio. Sometimes dreams do come true.
Mosaics of oldies are pretty cliche'. So Happy Cliche' Saturday!
