My new studio is finally complete. I built my own wall easel, painting table with glass top, painted the walls and etc. However, this is driving me insane being so bare and boring! So ready to sling paint, cover the walls with huge drawing paper and just make marks everywhere. This will be the last time anyone ever sees it clean, thankfully! Follow me on Facebook.
There's no denying that studio shooting is not my strong point. But I live and learn a little each time!!

quigley is very sensitive, and he loves andrew, our studio tech. he wears clothes all the time because he has thin hair and gets cold. he's allergic to a lot of foods, and he likes to walk in between your legs and under your chair like a cat. true love.

This location opened in December 2017; it was originally part of a 26,000 square foot, seven-screen AMC (a.k.a. Patrick Henry 7), which opened on November 4th, 1988 and closed in summer 2000, after having briefly operated as a second-run movie theater since November 1999. It became an Old Navy in summer 2002, which was renovated in fall 2009 and relocated here in August 2017.

Temporary arrangement while my studio is under construction. That big window will be replaced next week. I'll have to move everything out of the way again.
Shot this one in the studio using only 2 lights. 5ft OctoDome directly over camera and a 5ft umbrella behind the model. I used a fill card reflector under the model's face to soften up the shadows. Used a scarf during the shoot as a great prop.
Cézanne put a lot of effort into getting the light in his studio just right. In fact, he exchanged the whole floor because in the beginning it was too light.
In the photos you can actually see that the light and colors are similar to paintings by Cézanne.
