Fifth Grade Storytelling Image Montage Painting:
Storytelling Compositions based on memory, symbolism, and metaphor. Fifth grade students combined family photos, memories from special experiences and imagined ideas to create unusual combinations. What stories do these paintings tell you?
Ask yourself: If you were to combine memories to create your own storytelling image, which memories would you choose?
This is the work of the Graphic Design 2 students at Taiyuan Normal University in Taiyuan City, Shanxi, China. Their work is impressive. They are excellent at package design, have an a mazing sense of color and clearly understand the language of visual metaphors. We are happy to be collaborating with them this semester.
This beautiful embellished wooden box was made by my beading and crafts student Caroline. She beaded a bezel around the face cabochon (which she molded), added fringe, and made and added polymer clay leaves to the edges. The interior is nicely finished also.
I had my students do a class evaluation. They did't know it but it was helpful. From what I read...they want more games (I agree) and they liked the waffle making class...me too but it's hard work! I had to lug the items to school....I live an hour alway and I take the subway to work..=( too bad I don't live closer.
The display was designed by the students 3D Visual Mdse instructor (moi), but it was the students responsibility to implement the display from the plan-o-gram and directives given to them. They were also given some clothing, and they supplied others. I asked them to style the mannequins the way that felt appropriate. The space can be difficult to work in because it's only 30" deep.

To make some extra cash and to knock out one more week of shooting and printing before my final, I documented my Sculpture 1 class's foundry pouring for our assignment where we were to create a peice in either aluminium or bronze.
This image was bought by the school for $25.

In this project I chose to focus on the characteristics I would like in a company and in my co-workers. The main word I chose was, “trust”, because I think it’s the most important aspect of any relationship whether it be co-worker to co-work or company to company. I also added others qualities that build trust. I mean the poster sporadic because I don’t want a job that I go to everyday and know what I will be doing. I want a job that changes day to day and isn’t the same routine day in and day out. The reason for the coloring was because I thought they were a relaxing but yet eye catching.
