believe it or not, this entire shoot was done with a T2i, an 18-55mm IS (yes, the kit lens) and 3 yongnuo 560 II's (2 bare to right and left on 1/4 and 1 in a socked beauty dish in front above on 1/1 fired with cyber syncs). Really basic and cheap/affordable lighting set up.

Ghosts Flying Out of History
Special thoughts for all who have served and are serving their countries on this Veterans Day.
Please,
I have discovered that after midnight when the moon is new and the tide is low, the inner voice speaks much more clearly and wisely. Also, coffee seems to taste better. Maybe I imagined that last part though... ;)
3 merged shots with YN 560 III speed lights in umbrellas: one just to camera right, one from camera left facing fireplace and one upstairs to left. One underexposed shot for the window. All with a Canon 6D, a Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 and fired with YN trigger
Canon Rebel XT, 100mm F/2.0 and natural light....any lack of sharpness is my fault not the equipment...I normally wouldn't post a pic that isn't tack sharp but this was just too nice to not post

more simple strobist set up...single bare YN 560 III speed light on 1/2 to camera right, bright sun behind
2 bare speed lights on 1/8 bounced into CJ...left and right. And here's where I struggle...I like the 'pop' of something a little more than combining ambient exposures but I can't seem to balance it enough to get rid of the shadows from ceiling fixtures....ideas, thoughts?

neither of these images were actually shot through a window...rather, the window reflection is
an effect created using layers in photoshop

This beautiful Lockheed JetStar is a 1966 model 731, whose original owner was the RJ Reynolds company. Her maiden flight was from Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Stuart, Florida in January of 1967. Now, nearly 50 years later, her current pilots, John and Marty are lining her up for another flawless landing on Runway 30 in Stuart.
Inevitably, a couple of things have changed over the years. The four Pratt and Whitney engines have been replaced with four Garrett TFE 731's, and she now wears an absolutely stunning, retro styled paint scheme. I believe nearly everyone who sees her is of the opinion that both the styling, and level of detail are among the best and most beautiful of any private jet.

From the archives have meant to post this for some time...unique sunlight reflection on the wing adds too much realism.
Wanted to get this one out of the archives before I forget.
