This set was shot with some pretty inexpensive equipment: a Canon Rebel XT, a 50mm F/1.8 and a Sunpak 383 (bare on 1/2 to full to beat the sun which was going down behind Kristen). not too much post processing...some adjustments to levels, saturation and contrast...that's about it

shot with a canon rebel xt and the 18-55mm IS kit lens...for lighting used a sunpak 383 on 1/2 in a shoot through umbrella triggered with cyber sync

this is budget camera and lighting at it's best

Another example of what you can do on a budget: same equipment as usual...the older Canon Rebel XT, a 50mm F/1.8, a Sunpak 383 and a canon 430ex. These were taken under a dock around sunset. I had the 430ex to camera left on a stand at about 1/2, the sunpak 383 on 1/4 to camera right on the ground...both bare, no modifier. ISO was 100, you'll have to check out the exif info for the other settings but it was probably around 1/160 and F/8 - F/13

shot with a 430EX bare on 1/2 to camera left and a sunpak 383 bare on ground on 1/8 to camera right...all fired with cyber syncs...just some basic strobist stuff on a really low budget.

Shot with a Canon Rebel XT, a Sunpak 383, a 430EX and cyber sync triggers. Pretty cheap 2 light set up. Pretty sure I was using the 50mm F/1.8 for this shot.

Sun behind her over the dune and the 430 bare to camera left on 1/2 and the 383 to camera right on a rock at 1/8 -both bare

Many thanks to Jeff and Kim Capen. I am very pleased to have been selected for the inside rear cover of the 100th anniversary issue of Stuart Magazine.

this was shot with a cheap canon rebel xt and the very affordable 200mm F/2.8 prime lens (well very affordable for a 200mm prime....mine was around $500 off ebay if I remember right)

1/800, F/2.0, ISO 100 shot with a Canon Rebel XT and the 100mm F/2.0 lens -I LOVE this lens...such a beautiful portrait lens ($230 on ebay...nice).

1/160, F/6.3, ISO100, shot with a Canon Rebel XT and the 50mm F/1.8 -430ex with sto-fen modifier/diffuser on 1/2.

Shot was taken along the water in Stuart, Florida by the Roosevelt Bridge.

1/160, F/8.0, ISO 100 shot with a 50mm F/1.8....430ex to camera left on 1/2 bare no modifier and sunpak 383 bare to camera right on rocks no modifier on 1/8

and yes, I left the glow from the flash on the right in the shot intentionally...I kind of like the effect

Canon Rebel XT, a kit lens, a sunpak 383 to camera right and a vivitar 285 in a shoot thru westcott umbrella. More strobist info: 1/60 F/9 ISO200

Went back to my trusty 50mm f/1.8 -night shot, no flash on priority mode! Love this lens!

MARTIN COUNTY ORCHID SHOW, STUART, FLORIDA

Canon Rebel XT, 100mm F/2.0 and natural light....any lack of sharpness is my fault not the equipment...I normally wouldn't post a pic that isn't tack sharp but this was just too nice to not post

We saw this guy while walking on the beach. He was trying to dry his wings, as I think a wave got him. Hopefully it was able to fly off before being swallowed by the sea.

more simple strobist set up...single bare YN 560 III speed light on 1/2 to camera right, bright sun behind

this is my first attempt at converting to infrared....I'm kind of pleased with the results -would love to hear your feedback. The samples are really exactly the same...only the presentation is different (side by side vs. above and below).

This was done entirely in PS using channel mixer, blur and some levels

This is the first shot taken with my Canon 18-55mm IS lens that I think came out good...I'm not giving up though, I think I just need to practice with this lens
