A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on November 22, 2006 in celebration of the restoration of the historic Stuart Welcome Arch. The arch was restored to its original 1926 design and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This the site where historians believe the main house at Laurel Hill once stood. General J. E. B. Stuart was born on this site in 1833. The house was built in 1830 and burned down in 1847. The exact location of the home or what it looked like has never been determined.

Thes artifacts belonged to General J.E.B. Stuart.
