The 2018 FIM Oceania and New Zealand Trials Championship was held over 3 days at properties on Banks Peninsula near Christchurch in New Zealand.
Riders from Australia and New Zealand competed for individual and team honours.
Congratulations to the Australian riders who took out Experts, Sportsman, Twin Shock, and the Oceania Team Trophy.
New Zealand riders won A Grade, Intermediate, Presidents, Clubman, and Junior.
The Pioneer Motorcycle Club ran a well organised event in excellent weather.This was a credit to the team involved.
Hopefully the photos give you a taste of the event.
The next FIM Oceania event is in Tasmania in October 2019. The New Zealand team will be heading over to try and bring the trophy back to NZ.

STUART - Chef and co-owner of Lola's Seafood Eatery, Bernard Uffer, right, and chef Justin Bowns, knock out lunch orders at the new casual seafood restaurant in Stuart. Despite a feeble economy, Uffer and co-owner Charlie Paolino opened the business on December 4, 2008. Uffer says they opened the restaurant because they were bored and needed something to do. Both men are retired restauranteurs and Uffer has worked as a chef and published cookbooks. Uffer says that even though the ecomony is bad, people are still looking for quality places to eat with good prices. He feels they will be successful in this economic climate because they have a high quality, fresh product for a good price, a good location and he is able to keep his expenses low and payroll down by actually working at the eatery along with Paolino and both their wives. Uffer says the business is doing three times what they expected.

The Gilbert Stuart Birthplace and Museum is situated on 23 acres in the woods of Saunderstown, R.I. This is also the site of the first snuff mill in the American colonies. The Stuart family lived here until 1761 when they moved to Newport. Many families lived in the Birthplace over the next 170 years. By the late 1920s, the Birthplace had fallen into disrepair and was in danger of demolition. Local art-lovers formed a group to save the Birthplace from destruction. They raised money and purchased the buildings and grounds in 1930. The Birthplace was restored under the direction of architect Norman Isham, a renowned specialist in colonial restoration. A new waterwheel was built, exactly like the old one. An authentic 1700s snuff mill was installed in the exact spot of the original in the basement of the family home.
