Another shot of a song sparrow in the blackberry vines. Amazing to me how they can land on these without regard to the thorns. I don't seem to have such luck when I land in them :)
Wild Adventure Down Under!

*THIS was the primary reason for the trip to Central Australia. Our group saw a total of three wild adults and one DOR immature. I was so lucky to be by myself when this one came out of the tall grass RIGHT IN FROUNT OF ME! I couldn't freaking believe it! The Perentie is the world's third largest lizard species, and Australia's largest lizard. I have heard that they can give quite a wallop with their tail, and that they have a strong (and extremely painful) bite. They are a wonder!

Quel sens du spectacle!!!
Après avoir chassé les petits poissons tout autour du bassin, le jeune pensionnaire vedette du Parc s'est installé près de la berge là où les colverts sont légions, et à débuter une longue séance de nettoyage où il s'est présenté dans une multitude de positions tout aussi diversifiées et étonnantes les unes que les autres. Tout un spectacle qui s'offrait aux quelques photographes présents ébahis et charmés par ce bel et jeune oiseau... Et, comble de bonheur, tout ça exactement au moment où la lumière de fin de journée, cette fameuse période dite d'heure d'or (Golden hour) était à son paroxysme!!!

This little sparrow was different from the start...he was much smaller than his siblings and couldn´t fly..te had several injuries that meant he couldn´t fly. His mom alway´s fed him from the ground.
He´s grown a lot bigger now and can go where he wants to go. He just hops instead of flying. When he´s looking for shelter he just goes into our thick hedge. Great little guy!

Thank heavens for this trait, it makes handling Auntie Elk so much easier. She is quite a nervous dog and somewhat bipolar when it comes to other dogs so having her being able to concentrate on one thing only to the exclusion of everything else is a godsend. That being so, if I clock an approaching dog I just need to show the ball or pick up a twig and it immediately becomes the the centre of the world!
Measuring Seven metres in diameter this Moon Artwork hangs in the Cathedral in Limerick, when you walk into the cathedral it's a sight to behold. The Gentleman holding it up is may brother in Law.

I shot this image when visiting old friends, and it brings back memories. My roots are just a bit north of there, but the landscape with the fat clay is very similar.
Cycling to school. Every day 15 km x 2. The view close to our home, where my mother still lives today. The land where a I worked after graduating high school to earn some money to get myself a new guitar amp and a train ticket across Europe for holidays.

Ortygia (Italian: Ortigia) is a small island which is the historical centre of the city of Syracuse, Sicily. The island, also known as Città Vecchia (Old City), contains many historical landmarks. The name originates from the Ancient Greek ortyx (ὄρτυξ) which means "Quail".
Ortygia is located at the eastern end of Syracuse and is separated from it by a narrow channel. Three bridges connect the island to mainland Sicily. The island is an extremely popular place for tourism, shopping, entertainment and also a residential area.
