For my month in Ten Make Two

There are a couple new fabrics I am loving. The strawberries and the small hearts that are new from Clothworks. I think the line is called Cherie. It looks like it's watercolored on the fabric.

When I was very little I was given a guitar that had been in the family for a while- it's an old Martin nylon string guitar, approx 3/4 size (about the size of a baby Taylor)- and was perfect for learning on at the time. It has to be at least 50 years old at this point, probably more. Still sounds great, tho it's obviously looking its age.

It is rather difficult to get one of those great String Lake and Teton Range reflection shots when there are no visible mountains and no clear flat lake surface. I was in the Park for three days, this past May, before I saw any of the fantastic peaks.

Day 64 of Project 365 - String Art Macro. This is a close-up of the next image in my photostream.

A snow covered Mt. Moran from String Lake in late May. Because of the deep snow along the shoreline, unfortunately this was as far north as I could get this spring. String Lake is a long narrow shallow body of water that connects Leigh Lake in the north with Jenny Lake in the south.

I like this one. I decided not to blacken the outside of the firecracker and see if the translucent string cheese would look interesting. And it did.

The string cheese was from the dollar store. A simple shot. i also used a black background which is rare for me. I just wanted white cheese and black background. It might even work as a black and white photo.

We are staying home today. We already had and early Thanksgiving this past Sunday which went fine. Kathy and I went on a short hike in Ventura and then went into the hot tub. My long suffering right knee feels good and Kathy's hip is hopefully getting better.

I'd like to take some long hikes this winter so hopefully things will continue good.

Its a String Thing

This stringer becomes the support for the cockpit seat front panel, but also has the role of placing and supporting many of the bulkheads during assembly.

It's a cowboy made out of a ball of string. Or something. Linocut illustration by Nick Morley.
