I'm afraid I am sick of making these blocks, and I have 35 more 12" blocks to go. Ugh.
This was based on this quilt. www.filminthefridge.com/2009/04/24/a-colorful-string-quilt/
On Saturday night about 10:00 PM Oregon, IL Fire was dispatched to train derailment at Pines Rd. near Devil's Backbone. A string of empty sand cars being stored on the Mt. Morris branch line West of Gale Rd. rolled down hill and hit the derail on the north side of Pines Rd. The derail did its job and 17 of the 99 cars in the string derailed. The cars came to rest in a pile mostly north of Pines, a few cars did end up in the road way. Luckily no vehicles were passing at the time and no one was injured. The Mt. Morris line is operated by Illinois Railway (OmniTrax) and their officials arrived quickly to access the damage. Maggio's of Rockford started showing up with their parade of equipment and worked through the night and the majority of the next day righting cars and getting the road open. I am sure the heavy rain, high winds and rapidly dropping temperatures made job even harder.

I have been going through one of those everything going wrong in the high speed photo area.
A complete rebuild of the flash head, down to the wires. The ozone and UV from these things is epic and destroys all forms of insulation like a blast from a supernova, although with less planetary consequences. :-)
The projectile sensor on the Axe is doing funny stuff, so I went back to the old school setup. The devil that I know.....
Cheers.
Friday Photos 2012 [Week 45: Remembrance]
Event-based prospective memories are intentions triggered by cues, such as remembering to post a letter (action) after seeing a mailbox (cue). Cues do not need to be related to the action (as the mailbox/letter example), and lists, sticky-notes, knotted handkerchiefs, or string around the finger all exemplify cues that people use as strategies to enhance prospective memory.

This main part of this model was inspired by set 60068, Crooks Hideout (City - Swamp Police) along with the crane from set 7596, Trash Compacter (Toy Story 3).
I have removed the vehicles and the lighthouse since last time I showed this off (it was too expensive with the lighthouse), and I made the dockside warehouse modular with removable floors / roof and a fully detailed interior. I even added a downspout between the sliding freight door and the personnel door!
Please note that this size string is missing from the crane: alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=x77ac5...

Kids don’t always have to use paint brushes to create beautiful artwork. There are many media that can be used and each of them create different effects. So today we are exploring Pulled String Painting. This is an easy and sometimes messy art activity. It’s great for kids’...

The tangles are Heartstrings, Luv-a, and Heartvines.
I called this Woven, using Cadent, Huggins, W2 and Up and Across. I also only used part of the string to make bigger areas in which to tangle.
There are a couple new fabrics I am loving. The strawberries and the small hearts that are new from Clothworks. I think the line is called Cherie. It looks like it's watercolored on the fabric.
Don't look at me but the Mongolia traditional musical string instrument. It's like the Chinese Erhu but bigger in size at the bottom part.
