Aligning the head on the floppy disk drive using an old Amstrad laptop and a test unit called a 'Microtest' This uses the normal analogue alignment disk. Note the special alignment tool screwed into the stepper motor bracket at the rear of the disk drive (left side in the photo)
I took this on a walk after a snowfall followed by freezing rain. It was overcast, but there was lots of interesting shots to be had, like this one. She was walking towards her kids at the top of a toboggan run.

The well known Water Strider is a common sight on calm waters throughout Connecticut. This one, at the Ruby and Elizabeth Cohen Woodlands, shows well how they use the surface tension of the water to skim across the top.

So Strider is back home after two years of living the good life with some friends. You can see his excitement - back to spending the work day in a crate, and no more 5 mile runs along a lake. Poor guy.
