A rather beautiful and dignified pheasant striding purposefully across the grounds of Jodrell Bank in Cheshire, UK.
Taken handheld with the HD PENTAX-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED WR lens.
I finally caught up with this Little Egret.
It has now spent a couple of days in this water saturated meadow.
The RSPB website says they eat fish but this one is happy picking away here.
(It is only about 6 miles from Birmingham City Centre, UK!)
A smaller scene I built as my entry for the 2023 MELO contest. I was a bit short on time for this but I think the end result presents a nice scenery of Aragorns iconic entrance to the Lotr-saga.
Northern Rail liveried Pacer 142091 will shortly depart wrong line from Hexham with a Nunthorpe bound service.
We spent a day out in the towns along the eastern end of the Tyne Valley Line and I managed to squeeze a couple of railway shots in between visitng the delights of the local pubs and tea rooms. Friday 22.4.16

I've recently returned home from a wonderful week spent in the Southern Uplands of Scotland; my first trip away in over a year. This was a picture I've had planned for a few years, but wasn't expecting to experience the conditions I was hoping for during this visit. However, with a promising forecast the evening before, I decided to set my alarm and head out early up to this viewpoint to capture the sunrise - and I certainly was pleased I made the effort.
This sculpture is one of the Striding Arches dotted around the summits in this area, and lies along the route of Southern Upland Way on the top of Benbrack. Look closely, and you can also spot the highest of the arches on nearby Colt Hill to the left.
A small gap in the clouds on the horizon allowed the early morning sun to appear for only a few minutes, before disappearing again. Those few moments were truly stunning as I watched the sun appear through the archway, looking almost like a heavenly gateway with the light beaming through.
