Yorkshire Rider purchased 34 Scania N113s with Alexander Strider bodies with full bus seats in the 90s. Apart from a couple of engine failures and alike all went to the scrappers as runners apart from numerically the first delivered 8601. This was saved at the very last minute thanks to alot of determination from a small few and now is restored to near new condition externally & internally. It forms part of a small private collection of local & interesting buses. Here the bus is seen getting some fresh air out of storage during June 2012.

The Striding Arches are a series of three massive stone sandstone arches built on the hilltops around Cairnhead, near Moniaive, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. They are built by sculptor Andy Goldsworthy.

The arch you see stands on the top of Colt Hill (598 m). It is just under 4 meters high, and stretches across 7 meters. It is built from 31 blocks of hand-dressed red sandstone weighing approximately 27 tons.

Away through the weekend by a business trip.

Enjoy your weekend guys! :)

October morning, deep in the Lishakill Preserve, Niskayuna NY.

The faint white streaks are bits of snow falling rapidly from the trees as the temperatures rose following an unsual October snowstorm the night before. Made for a great walk deep in the woods; like standing in a wild and sunny snowstorm.

Street and Repeat - Instruction #21

Gavin Bragdon says:

"Darkness falls. The sun is dying and the world is fading. Make your own sun."

Quick snap as walking to the station.

bathed in the stark contrasts of morning light and deep shadows, a lone woman strides purposefully through the streets of palma. dressed in white, her movement is swift and unyielding, undeterred by the interplay of light and darkness that envelops her. each step is decisive, driven by an inner resolve and a clear sense of direction. the avenues near plaça espanya become a mere backdrop to her determined journey, where the nuances of light and shade seem irrelevant to her focused path.

Striding Edge, Helvellyn, Lake District

African Jacanas are equipped with long, gangly legs and clawed toes, making it possible for them to walk over floating hydrophytes – usually water lilies – with impressive agility. Female African Jacanas (which are larger than their mates) defend territories, which include multiple males in adjacent areas. Females lily-hop from male to male, laying about four eggs, marbled with light brown and black for camouflage. She then moves on, leaving the male to do all the dirty work. He sits on the eggs and, after they hatch, dedicates himself to rearing the chicks. This stay-at-home dad even carries his young ones under his wings to keep them safe and warm until they are about two or three weeks old.

Helvellyn, Lake District

One of a couple of Lakes trips this year. Up in the snow on Helvellyn with mates; ideal!

AKA: "Striker".

I built another Strider model as I had an idea for double Direct Fire weapons. It's still a cross between Soren's initial idea, my new Quad design and the legs from this AYates frame.

The Wolf Strider is a dangerous machine. It's long and powerful legs can move it across the land very fast while also being very quiet. This near silence that the Wolf achieves allows it to creep up on enemy targets easily.

The main gun of the Wolf is strong enough to penetrate most forms or armor. The relatively small size of the Wolf means that it cannot carry many rounds and thus must be sure with each shot. The side weapons are extremely sharp grappling harpoons meant to entangle and slow down enemy units. With no anti-infantry weapons available and with thin armor the Wolf must be wary of infantry unless it exterminates them with its powerful legs.
