Nicely and carefully restored Scania. Ready for immediate use, for the time being only shows and promotions.
Newly restored to its "Streamliner" state, Stanier 'Princess Coronation' 4-6-2 no.6229 "Duchess of Hamilton" at its first exhibiting at the NRM.
With "Duchess of Hamilton" is the Chrysler “Airflow”. It was introduced in America in 1934 and was a like nothing seen before.
The 8 cylinder engine was suspended over the front wheels, giving the car a perfect ride. But the public didn't buy it and it was a commercial flop, ceasing production in 1937.
In Britain it was sold under the name of Chrysler “Heston” and was assembled at Kew, London.
