Although the Boca Express Train Museum at the site of the old Boca Raton station has closed permanently, its outside exhibits remain on site. These include a pair of streamline cars built for the Seaboard Airline in 1947 by Budd Company. These comprise the dining car seen here and an observation saloon. Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
GM1 holds the distinction of being Australia's very first EMD powered mainline diesel-electric locomotive. Delivered from Clyde-GMs works at Granville NSW to then South Australian-based Commonwealth Railways in September 1951. Based on the American EMD powered classic F7 design, the original 11 GM 1 class were A-1-A+A-1-A bogied, meaning the centre axle in each bogie was unpowered. The GM12 class that followed, and all other Australian variants were Co-Co ( all axles powered) for greater traction.
GM1 had been transferred from Adelaide to Parks, then on to Goulburn for Streamliners 2016.
Following this event, GM1 will be towed dead to Perth, where a new home is awaiting the Nullarbor's first streamliner.
The Commonwealth Railways lettering was applied in Goulburn, the day prior to the show by organiser, Bernie Baker's team.

Caption: The record setting Burlington Route Pioneer Zephyr, Hollywood, California, 1934. The original RKO-Radio movie was loosely based on this train's record run of 13 hours from Denver to Chicago. Standing in front of the locomotive is Anne Shirley, the 16 year old star of 'Anne of Green Gables,' who says 'It would be a pleasure even to be run down by such a perfect train as this Silver Streak. The Burlington Route nose plate was changed for the film
