NS 6106 leads NS train 033 with the streamliners returning from Spencer, NC. There is also a surprise at the end of the train a new toy for IRM.
A famous name in long-distance rail travel: The Capitol Limited.
This was the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's marquee train, its Washington-to-Chicago run. The Capitol ran for more than 40 years, from the 1920s until Amtrak took over long-distance rail service in 1971.
This piece is from the train's streamliner era, and is part of the collection of the B&O Museum in Baltimore. It's inside now, so perhaps it won't rust too much more.
A66 powers out of Frankston leading the Stony Point leg of 707 Operation's Steam & Streamliner Tour, R707 bringing up the rear.

The CN 102 sports her newly applied Green and Yellow CN passenger livery as she tags along in the L-521s lash up. It is on its way to Spaulding, IL and will be on display at Franklin Park Railroad Daze. Ad seen from the Geneva spur of the IL prairie bridge in West Chicago, IL
Fun streamliner cover with the UP M-10000 and a Pennsy GG-1. From a 1930's children's book in my collection.
8878 Hopper Transfer from Port Augusta to Lithgow was operated by SSR Streamliners B61 S317 GM27 GM10 and S302, ahead of 96 empty coal hoppers.
Starting at Blayney, this series of images follows the train through to Bathurst (where they left the hoppers) and then onto Lithgow.
