Baltimore and Ohio EA 51 was built in 1937 and is easily one of the most historic diesels on the entire planet. She was soaking up the paint-killing sun at the B&O Museum in Baltimore in 1990.

She has shamefully deteriorated from neglect over the years at the hands of B&O Museum "management" and did/could not make the once-in-a-lifetime gathering of Streamliners at Spencer in 2014.

She is truly a historic motor and should have been present, but that's the way it is. The B&O Museum really missed a perfect opportunity to get some positive publicity and will be forever thought of as a "what if?"

Oh well. When I win the lottery one of the first things I'll do is buy this friggin' place and clean house. She deserves better. This old girl would have looked beautiful posed on the turntable in North Carolina surrounded by her younger siblings.

In 2021, the B&O Museum restored the EA to its original appearance and it looks fantastic.

GM1 sits around the Goulburn Roundhouse during Streamliners!

This photo really fascinates me to be honest I don't know why I took it from a dirty window however I did and I like the effect of the lights from 766 in the background. So here we see Lothian Gemini 746 on a service 21 to the Royal Infirmary seen on Portobello High Street.

Whilst looking back through my photos, I had forgotten how dark it went during the time Sir Nigel Gresley stood on Platform 5 awaiting departure to take the empty coaching stock out of the station and be turned on the York triangle further North.

Just before departure and the reason for uploading, the late running Grand Central service arrived from the North and so I share this as a contrast of different streamlined motive power designs from different centuries.

Here the trailing British Rail Class 180 diesel multiple unit stands out amidst the gloom and contrasts with newly overhauled LNER A4 Class 4-6-2 no 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley bathed in steam.

The Doncaster built Gresley Pacific was in charge of The York Christmas Market, operated by Locomotive Services Limited (LSL) on behalf of its newly acquired Steam Dreams subsidiary.

The loco remains in its temporary LNER wartime black livery, as outshopped after missing its turn in the paint shop following recent repairs.
