Timber Creek runs through Funks Grove, in Central Illinois. It begins just a mile or so from my house, and ends where it empties into Sugar Creek, a creek that runs directly through Bloomington, Illinois. The course through Funks Grove is spectacular. You'd swear you weren't in Illinois, that's for sure. It's more like the Smoky Mountains or Vermont. It splashes and gurgles as it rushes past fallen trees, sand bars, and rocks in the stream bed. I've seen bobcat tracks at this location, along with countless whitetail deer, raccoon, and other wildlife tracks. The bird population is varied, and there are rare species of wildflowers here as well. This spring, this whole area was covered with bluebells. Now it is covered with leaves. And the stream still flows.

Agumbe, the homeland of the King Cobras! Apart from the King, the forest has other wildlife too. Leopards, Sambar deer, mouse deer, barking deer, gaurs, malabar giant squirrels, slender loris and langurs are found in this rain forest.

A re-edit of a photo I took over 15 years ago with my then-new Canon EOS 30D DSLR and its "better" kit lens, the EF-S 17-85mm F/4-5.6 IS USM. Revisiting the image, I made adjustments and applied a lookup table in Luminar 4 then I loaded it into Photoshop for some further tweaking.

Norwegian Landscape

On a recent trip to Oregon with a bunch of like minded photographers we came upon this stream as we were looking for something totally different. Actually, that seemed to be happening a lot. (Looking, not finding, but then finding something entirely different). Life is an adventure.

I used the tangle Merryweather by Sandy Hunter. The idea this week was to use a "go to" tangle of which I have a few. It was the turn of Merryweather to go to the party.

If only my phone would take the photo with straight edges!

This stream was coming from one waterfall in Gangtok, Sikkim

All that rainwater had to go somewhere. This little stream bed was dry over the summer.

A few yards from Pont Pen-y-Benglog, a bridge over a gorge nestling between the brooding Carneddau Mountains and the imposing Glydder Mountains, are the impressive waterfalls taking the overflows of Lake Ogwen down to the coast.

This picture was taken at the top section before the waters plunge a 100m or more to the valley floor.

Taken with Nikon D5100 and Sigma 14mm EX f2.8 HSM lens.

I wondered up down this stretch of river determined to take a 5x4 image. The light was dull and I was against the clock. My friends were tapping there watches as we were off to see and listen to a Joe Cornish show.

I'm quite pleased with the result and again I'm just blown away by the details in the tranny. I used Provia 100F to try and keep the contrast under control, no grads were used.

The Joe show was superb as well!
