A picture of a stream, I've seedn during a walk at the swabian jura

I was driving on the A4086 towards Capel Curig that morning, when a break in the clouds opened this spectacular light.

I left the car to the side of the road, grabbed camera and a lens and rushed through the first gate I could find to an open field. There I found this scene.

Having left my tripod in the car, I had to compromise slightly on DOF and ISO. Luckily I had a ND grad filter in my jacket, which helped balancing the sky.

I think this image looks a little HDR, but apart from some levels and sharpness, nothing was added/removed from the real scene.

Looking high and southwards

Long exposure scenic view of a Colorado rocky mountain stream in the South St Vrain Canyon with slow moving water over lots of rocks and boulders. I could site here and day dream all day long.

Beartownfoto and me were out looking for some moving water to try out long exposure. Mosquitoes were everywhere and I got more bites in one day than I have ever had. But it was all good fun!

Gladiolus Flower

The tall spires of gladiolus are always sensational when they bloom. Unfortunately, it's a rather short blooming period. I plant glad bulbs every spring because they don't always survive the changes I make to the contents of my flowerpots. I like to have a variety of flowers always blooming. In Tucson, with its exaggerated temperature extremes, that can mean lots of seasonal changes...;)
