The Twenty Mile Creek taravels the last bit of distance before it flows into Lake Ontario

On the morning of my second day trip to North Island, NZ, I headed to Kitekite Falls, which is situated on the hinges of the beautiful coastal town of Piha, an hour's drive east of Auckland. I say beautiful because Piha is the only town in New Zealand where it slowly gets into view as you descend from over the mountains, and the Tasman Sea behind it grows majestic.

All my shots of the magnificent 5 tier falls turned out to be duds - water spray, high position of the sun etc. So instead of that, I present to you - the charming Kitekite stream.

Used Lee 105mm polarizer and GNDs for this shot.

Looking down a waterfall in Hickory Run State Park, Pennsylvania.

We visited the two neighbouring villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van in the Muong Hoa Valley. The rice terraces gently rise up the sides of the hills and mountains surrounding the villages.

Lao Chai is the home of the Black Hmong whilst Ta Van is the home of the Dzai. These are two of the many minority peoples in north Vietnam.

Some fun with filters on this one. A Watercolour filter has been applied along with various post production effects. The original shot was taken with a slower shutter speed to blur the cascading water.

I was sitting by a fast-flowing stream in IIlston Valley, Gower, Wales (last week) when the wind caught some seeds which gently landed on the water - I had my camera and just caught this one floating quickly passed me, a glint of light through the trees rested on the top of the seed. A little touch up here ad there with picnik and this is how it all came out of the melting pot.

This cable drum nad been in this stream for over 20 years. Now it supports part of the stream's ecosystem.
