I've decided that wherever I live, I need one that I can see from inside the house. They make me happy and feel all girly.
There's nothing quite like standing under them and looking straight up through the branches and blossoms.
5 months and 77 years (my youngest niece and her grandfather). My dad adores her.
I'm in NJ for Dad's birthday dinner. He turned 77 on Thursday. My present was two tickets to the Blind Boys of Alabama/Preservation Hall Jazz Band concert Morristown. Mom danced on stage, Dad would have if not for his arlthritic hip, so I guess they had a good time. We danced to the CD while cooking dinner tonight.
Had a wonderful time with the family tonight. Had too much fun getting silly with the niecephews. More fun tomorrow as we go hiking in the afternoon.
Messing with the morning light in the North-facing windows trying to get enough contrast to make a B&W photo work. I like the contrast of the texture in the shawl to the texture of my skin. :)
Not really what I was going for. I have another I'll try to process later. My aim, which was off, was to aim straight up, and let the 100* view of the lens take in a lot.
This waterfall is on the side of...gasp...a cliff. So, while my lens isn't a fisheye, straight up would give me the edge of the waterfall. But, I wasn't allowed the time to do a proper 5 exposures here. Ohwell. Enjoy

straight up a local power pole at a MIDWINTER SKY.
Each of the poles in our street has a different style or mix of styles of insulators... OK so I walk up and down this street far too often, and with boys, so we see the weirdest things in the envirnoment.

Sunday night after the weekend that wasn't.
I had to work all weekend. A straight-up, SOOC portrait for the day. Too tried to do what I had planned.
I don't know why I'm smiling. I have a hard time not smiling when a camera is pointed at me.
I haven't done these in a long time, in fact, prefer not to usually but there it is. :D I like playing with this app for the tones and textures it produces. Photography in the end, is about enjoying it and having fun, right?

The York Post Office is a gem of a building, especially if you like old architecture. I don't know when it was built, but the architect was clearly influenced by ancient greek and roman architecture. This building could be picked up and dropped in the middle of Washington, DC, and fit right in with the architecture there.
