It's amazing what you can see when you look straight up

straight up at a corner of the courtyard in the Bou Inania medersa in Fès, Morocco.

A flyby at Memphis Zoo Takes Flight.

It was a very bleh Monday.

Good night everyone, I'm off to bed!

straight up to a ceiling in the riad al bartel, where i stayed in Fez.

this was my 3rd time making cupcakes ever and my first time using an actual pastry bag w/ a decorator tip for the frosting (which is why they're pretty irregular :) ). subtle peppermint flecks came from grating an after-dinner mint from Beau Jo's Pizza in Idaho Springs. The peanut butter frosting was so thick and fluffy that i decided to just slather it on w/ a knife like a sweet peanut butter mountain. In the photo it just looks like straightup peanut butter but in reality it is fluffly and sweet and delicious. recipes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World.

We get the craziest-looking clouds sometimes... This was a thunderstorm that was blowing in as I was getting my groceries put into the van. I took a lot of photos that day - even when the hail started pounding down and I got soaked. But it was worth it. ;)

On location shooting today, with my flatmate Shiv. Her first ever photo shoot, didn't she do well??

This is the wide angle view of my vision tonight.

Straightup unedited right from the camera.

Decided to shoot a regular exposure today at an elevated ISO. Was hoping I could capture the light and color of this sunset and it came out well, but I'll always be disappointed with the lack of visibility offered by today's camera's when it comes to the underexposed ground level subject matter. I could clearly see the opposite shoreline and cloud bank this evening when I took this. The only positive is that the sunset lighting and color came out really good.

Thats why I love HDR imaging so much. I just wish it were easier to get true life color and lighting with today's software.

This shot was taken from my usual sunset location at Arun Residence, overlooking Wat Arun.

The weather has been beyond wonderful over here and better yet, the hubby moved back home after studying for two years in another city. Yay!

That meant that this week I could barely squeeze out straight up SPs.

My husband got this for me, for my birthday. I wasn't expecting a candelabrum, but he knows I love wrought iron and candlelight, so he saw this and picked it up for me. It really is gorgeous. I love the scrollwork, and lights up the room beautifully. Plus, it's also great for camera tosses! ;)

My last day in Georgia always makes me feel wistful. It was a great visit. I love my life in Ann Arbor, but I really hate that I am 830 miles from my parents, and that they only get to see their only grandkids 2-3 times a year.

But I was still feeling happy. Because I was in Georgia. And the sun was out! And spring is coming! And also? I've been kind of liking my hair lately. :)

Right before bed time. With the hubby's skydiver dude in the background.

Sydney sky at dawn, through a fisheye lens. The Opera House and Harbour Bridge are at lower left. Taken from Mrs Macquarie's Point. You can see bits of the fig trees on the point at the top of frame.

...looking straight up

Here, I'm standing in the rock shelter behind the waterfall at the northern most point of the East Bee Branch canyon in the Sipsey Wilderness area of Bankhead National Forest, in AL and am looking straight up.

the bolts of the larger part of the tall double doors in one of the rooms in a riad in Fes, with the carved archway above.

My first Uni Brief is to approach strangers in the street, who I think have a good sense of style or interesting look, and asking if I can photograph them. Today I went in to Newport town centre to take some photos, however this was the only one I got as shortly after someone tried to steal my camera. Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow.

We got bored with the path and decided to just free climb up the mountain – or – at least the depth of scale in this photo makes that seem plausible.

i took this shot after dinner. i almost didn't bother, but knew that i'd be annoyed with myself that i had gotten this far only to miss a day because i just didn't feel like taking a picture of myself. i'm still wearing what i slept in the night before, an ugly pink t-shirt that j brought back for me from columbus.
