The Storr is a rocky outcrop reaching 719 m (2,359 ft) with the Old Man of Storr, a pinnacle some 50m tall standing to its right.
It's a prime example of the Trotternish landslip, the longest such feature in Great Britain. It is the type locality for the mineral gyrolite.
Upon Climbing up to the Old man of Storr. Apparently carrying two very weighty cameras, and an assortment of lenses was too much for the scree slopes. I fell over and broke the front off one of my lenses. My wrist hasn't been the same since either. Still, it's always worth it for that view.
After a long slog up to the ledge just above the Old Man of Storr at 1000ft, the sky created some really interesting patterns.
There's only around a dozen of us up here so not too bad and it's nice and dry too. We're off back to the hotel shortly to grab a full Scottish breakfast which for once I will not feel guilty about eating it.
Have a great day everyone.

Taken at the same time as the Cuillin pastel shot. The sunset was reflected 180 degrees behind the Storr to the North. Which is really unusual.
. . . at the Old Man of Storr. The day began with an early drive and hike up to this location. It was a cold and blustery day with the low clouds and mist drifting in and out of the scene. One of the benefits of this location is that I was down low enough to stay sheltered from the bitter winds of that morning.
Old Man of Storr, Isle of Skye, Scotland
Скалы с мифическим названием Старик Сторр, остров Скай, Шотландия
The Storr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west. "Wikipedia"
The Old Man of Storr is a famous place in Scotland. Sadly, I had not the option to be there at sunrise. However, I like the spot and I hope you like the picture :-)
Some nice light up the Storr this morning. This is a crop from my Samyang 14mm lens which always comes out on exif as 50mm for some reason.
A pre-sunset shot of the iconic Old Man of Storr on the Trotternish ridge in Skye. The rain had been teeming down all day and had just stopped as I managed to get a shot. Cloud was moving across ridge and the sun was setting on the left hand side providing nice colours and contrast.
