St Mark's Church is an ancient church on the north-east side of College Green, Bristol, England, built c. 1230. Better known to mediaeval and Tudor historians as the Gaunt's Chapel, it has also been known within Bristol since 1722 as the Lord Mayor's Chapel. It is the only church in England privately owned and used for worship by a city corporation.

Photo story:
I needed some outdoors time after work and took my camera even though it was hot outside in the sunset and spotted some birds in flight to feel free like them. This was almost dark at night. I was kind disapointed by the Nikon D500 AF accuracy at so low light level. Much hesitation of the AF. The Pentax K3-II I tried past year before buying the D500 was way better at this regard. Impressive details at ISO-25.600 and so so very low light. Much noise, sure, but much detail too. NO NR applied. (Would like to see how Topaz Denoise AI works here)

This is the biggest bit of the Diamond "machine", the main storage ring. High-energy electrons are pumped into here from a smaller synchrotron (itself fed from a linear accelerator); at certain points, the electrons are "wiggled" to produce photons, which leave the ring at a tangent to form one of the umpteen beamlines, which are where the experiments are attached. But look at the Diamond website itself for the real gen!
Most of what you can see here are the magnets that control and direct the beam. I like the way that everything is colour-coded: the red magnets are used to keep the electron beam in the middle of the beamline, the green magnets are used to bend the beam (the ring is actually a series of straight sections, not a continuous curve); and I forget what the yellow bits are for!

The Farley-Loetscher Company Building 1 (Frank's Transfer & Storage Warehouse; Sioux Falls Paint & Glass Building) was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. Project photographs, 2013.
The Farley-Loetscher Company Building I is a three story, L-shaped, flat roof, brick and quartzite structure that is an example of early 20th century commercial / industrial / warehouse architecture.
The Farley-Loetscher Company was founded in Dubuque, Iowa in 1875. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, affiliate opened in 1906 under the supervision of one of the company's salespeople, Harris ("Harry") A. Hurd (c.1877-1952). The parent company then opened similar branches based on this prototype in Des Moines, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois. In addition, the company opened twenty-nine Midwest Lumber Yards.
The Sioux Falls branch/affiliate of the company began in a rented building at 322 East Eighth Street that was owned by Samuel Hirst, for the purpose of manufacturing the following items: window and door sashes, woodwork and paneling, moulding and brackets, wooden window blinds, as well as fine custom-made interior finishes. This list of buildings with Farley-Loetscher work includes the following buildings: Sioux Valley Hospital, McKennan Hospital, Glidden Hall - University of Sioux Falls, the Coliseum, City Hall, First Baptist Church, First Lutheran Church, St. Joseph Cathedral, the YMCA, Columbus College, Augustana College, as well as public schools constructed between 1915 and 1949. One of the most significant special interior orders includes the Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City. The builder ordered worm-infested chestnut woodwork for all the downstairs public rooms because the owner liked the look of this wood. When Farley-Loetscher's supply was depleted, employees were instructed to "make" worm holes in chestnut wood. The company spent weeks heating hot wires while workers burned holes in the lumber, one by one, until the order was filled.
They used this building until 1917 when they constructed a new facility east of this location. Sioux Falls Paint and Glass began operating at 322-324 East 8th in 1917 and remained at that location until 1927. Sioux Falls Paint and Glass added the third floor brick addition in 1924. At the same time, J.T. Bellman began the operation of his wholesale butter, eggs and poultry business out of the back warehouse portion of the building. Bellman continued his operation at that location until 1933. After 1927, the building saw a variety of uses from wholesalers of eggs, cheese, beer to supply companies. Use for warehousing and delivery began in the late 1940's and early 1950's.
