Awaiting overhaul by Colas, HST power car 43277, with East Midlands Railway branding, makes an unusual site at Arley, behind a GWR poster advertising the virtues of Criccieth in North Wales. I don't think anyone would describe the Llyn Peninsula as "Alpine" these days and the Alps aren't exactly coastal!

Two brick shelves one on top of the other wrapped in cling film as a cheap substitute for pallet wrap. The film keeps the draws from moving. It's sad seeing it like this. :(
Starting in October 2012, the second ARM Mobile Facility (AMF2) was deployed on the Horizon Lines cargo ship Spirit for the year-long Marine ARM GPCI1 Investigation of Clouds (MAGIC) campaign, traveling between Los Angeles, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii. The purpose of the deployment was to understand and parameterize clouds, precipitation, aerosols and radiation, and the interactions among them.

Atelier Lixenberg Dronten NL
Rarely has an artist determined the image of a municipality as strongly as the sculptor and graphic artist Cyril Lixenberg in Dronten in the Flevopolder. The artist had his studio and storage space here, which still houses his legacy. When he settled there, Dronten was still in full development. Lixenberg is everywhere in infinitely spacious Dronten. The fact of the immense space, growth and potential has been a great inspiration for Lixenberg's work, partly because it invited him to think big. The most visible manifestation of this is the sculpture route, consisting of 26 sculptures in the public space that were created on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Dronten in 1997.
The bond between Dronten and Lixenberg has a long history that can be called unusual and unique not only for this municipality. It started in the mid-1980s when a couple wanted to exhibit art on part of their land. They came into contact with Cyril Lixenberg and he immediately saw more possibilities. He had made three sculptures for a temporary exhibition in Breda: a square, a circle and a triangle, which were placed in a straight line behind each other. He immediately saw those sculptures in front of him, but then on the dike of the Ketelmeer. The sculptures were placed in 1988 and are still there.
From the introduction to Cyril Lixenberg a friendship with the city grew. He visited regularly. At the time no one could have foreseen that Dronten would eventually become the city of Cyril Lixenberg. In exchange for a number of monumental works of art, Lixenberg acquired a piece of building land in the municipality of Dronten on which he established his studio and storage. It led to an exceptional, years-long collaboration between the artist and the city in the making. As Dronten grew, countless sculptures by Lixenberg were erected along important access and transit roads.

An old storage shed in Siler City, NC. Shot on film (Tri-X) on an Omega-Toyo 4x5 camera using (I think) a 210mm lens. Shot taken in the early 1990s, I seem to have lost the notes on the exposure.
You can never have enough baskets or containers. These currently have charm packs and jelly rols stashed,, awaiting secret projects.

This is a photo of an ordnance storage building from World War II. It is located at in East Houston as is part of the San Jacinto Ordnance Depot. Mostly overgrown now with a bit of graffiti. Heavy concrete walls and a large steel door.
February 13th 2013: One of the most important things we take for granted are our digital data storage devices. Ironically we have all experienced 'data loss' in some form somewhere. Whether at work or school we depend on these little storage devices, like our lives depend on them. Consider having a back up of a back up? I do that with my images. I have images dating back to 2004 and earlier. I am definitely guilty of that. But I have managed to keep my storage devices in good shape over the course of many years by following some simple rules. Formatting, getting rid of really HUGE files or putting large files on a separate external. Just keeping things simple and organized goes a long way. Save yourself the trouble, invest in good storage devices. I read a lot of reviews from people who spend their hard earned money on these items before investing my own. One of the small bedrooms in my house was remodeled by us to hold all of the small parts. All the design work was done by my wife with the exception of the decision to use the sterite drawers and their arrangement, and (as you will see in other images) the brick crown molding, which I conceived and executed.
The work on this room (and all of our Lego Storage even areas not shown) was completed between mid Feb and mid May 2012.
